I've seen a few people post on here who seem to think this years SPL winners go straight into the Champions League group stages next season but I actually think some people are going to be disappointed. From what I hear and after doing a bit of 'research' it seems like 1st and 2nd place will get a shot at the Champions League next season BUT both will enter at the third qualifying stage. The winners will be in the champions route which is supposedly the easier route but we seen Rangers didn't find it easy this season against Malmo and 2nd place will go into the non-champions route like Celtic did a few seasons ago when they were drawn against Arsenal Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, particularly to the Celtic fans who thought they'd be in the Champions League groups after cruising to the SPL title
Ah well. I had thought it was straight in this year. It is all down to Celtic then. There isn't a hope of Motherwell getting into the group stages.
To be honest I actually thought the winners got straight in as well but it's not to be. To be fair it makes sense, why should we have a team get straight in when we've done **** all in Europe for years now. Our coefficiant is plummeting
4 (coefficient) points for getting in to the group stages is as good as winning 2 games in the Uefa cup. results in either competition are worth the same, but those bonus points are huge.....as well as the money. I am of course being a **** in mentioning Motherwell but I genuinely think the monkey Hun bastards shall have problems getting a european licence for next season.
Rangers may have had problems playing against the team Sally wanted but I don't think Malmo would pose any great difficulties for any other SPL team that would be drawn against them Rangers this season have had a difficulty when they were playing with neutral officials.
