So, are we all turning on Tony now...?

I'm on Tony's side all the way. The guy has been nothing but dedicated to his task. He takes the emotion out of his decisions, which is exactly the way it should be. For the first time in a long time I feel we are really trying to match it with the best.

I think the board have made a very bad decision with Neil, a dishonourable one too as we were on the targets set. But there's no point turning on TF. I for one have not forgotten where we were before he came in.

"We are Sparky's blue and white army" fit's better.

Maybe to save all the chopping and changing we should just have one chant for no matter who is in charge.

"Current manager's blue and white army."

I think TF and the board will live to regret this decision as I am not as sure as the rest of you and my jury is out on this one; I honestly believe TF has done this in his interest firstly and the club not even a near second and I wonder if we don't make it will MH have a clause in his contract to be on his bike, probably as he is "ambitious" and can't see him sticking it out in the Championship nor can I see TF being as interested if we go down for too long.

I know this is not a popular train of thought and you will probably say I am being negative, and I am, but I really find it hard to see us surviving. MH (if he takes the job) needs to buy several players that all have to gel into a new system and team mates this takes time and could be as much as 7/8 games before he finds the right formation and winning combination, bare in mind our best player by a mile is out and our next best player is in Africa together with our fastest forward threat for around a month.

This leads me to believe that once MH really gets a team playing with any rythem we will then be faced with our remaining 8 or 9 games which six are against the top six teams, we could get a few points but will it be enough? My guess is we will finish on around 34/35 points and no more!

I await the bombs and condemnation from above.

I certainly don't think appointing MH guarantees survival but I do think we were doomed under NW, so I'm willing to put a little bit of faith in a better manager. Just concerned that if we do get relegated under MH, it could get really messy for TF & Co.

I'm hoping the stripey cat was one of those who left with NW and his team. The last vestige of the Flav and Bernie era. I actually quite like the guy dressed up as a plane - a totally unique mascot. I know that was for Gulf Air but surely the same thing could be done with Air Asia. Watch out Jude, your time is up...

Def not. He has to make tough decisions and he made the right one here. I met him a number of years ago in Kuala Lumpar just as he was starting his airline. I work for a company that provides insurance to the airline industry. We see lots of entrepreneurs who think they can make it big in the airline industry. It actually has a lot of similarities with football - you need a lot of money to get involved with a pretty high probability of losing money. It attracts entrepreneurs because of the investment required but also the perceived "sexiness" of the industry. He came across as incredibly driven, enthusiastic and intelligent. For those who say he hasn't achieved anything or he isn't a winner clearly don't know their facts. Air Asia started with a vision of being an Easyjet or Ryanair of Asia. His competition was a state owned monopoly in a predominantly Muslim state. Check this out for yourselves but his airline has grown enormously, is one of the largest low-cost carriers in Asia, makes significant profits (which is a rarity in the airline business) and is generally incredibly well perceived.
My point is that as mentioned above the airline industry does have a lot of similarities with football - this guy has proven himself a winner against the odds in a volatile industry so I have every confidence he will make this work. I doubt any one who does question his credentials has had the exposure to him and his business that I have had over the last 10 years and that is what I am basing my confidence on - not bragging, just stating that I have a perspective on him that I think is valid and wanted to share

Good perspective, and a good analogy Canada :) To succeed in the business world, as Alan Sugar does so well out of proving, you don't need to be nice all the time - you need a bit of ruthlessness. And Tony's just shown his.

I dont see why we would turn on Tony for making the correct decision. He probably made it with a very heavy heart but it's the right one to make.

What has really impressed me is the way that Tony Fernandes hasn't hidden away and has been quite happy to answer his critics (And sometimes abusers) on twitter. It would of been very easy for him to just go silent but he and his team have been transparent in what they have done and their reasons behind their decisions.

Are you joking, weve waited years for someone like TF to take over and I for one think he acted at the right time to get rid of NW.

So, are we all turning on Tony now...?

Not at all. He's just prepping the garden for Springtime.

It's just that Rangers is a particularly 'homey' type club where people don't like uncomfortable change. Give it time. We'll be okay.

Forgotten about the bloody cat....it took us so long to demote that cat....then we get a manager with the same bloody name

    Back to the thread.
Don't care if TF is using the club as an ego booster...if he wants a good ego boost, then he makes the club successful. Nobody wants to buy a Premier League club and then say look what I did ....get it demoted. He will do everything in his power to make HIS club successful, and the ruboff is WE get a successful club too. His timing was right with NW, the posts and tweets (not just from Joey) say he had lost the dressing room. NW had to go.
But Sparky has to get hold of Joey's bad side though and focus him in on the problem at hand, and it starts with the team beginning to win....then everything quiets down, less stress, we can all see we are heading in the right direction.
This afternoon is just SO important

I can guarantee if we do end up not signing anyone there will be some Qpr fans making their feeling know. Let hope it doesn't come to that!
