Anyone who is as prolific on Twitter as Joey7barton clearly loves the publicity and knowing that his views on the world are being followed by his disciples all around the world. So could this technology be used to show that his behaviour is not acceptable? When I looked just now he had 1,104,235 followers, presumably some on this board are among them.

Could we get as many as possible to “unfollow” him and at the same time start to tweet and re-tweet the tag #shutitbarton? Please forgive any incorrect terminology, I don’t use Twitter myself. If as many of you on Twitter do this as possible and rope in your friends etc, it may just get noticed, especially if everyone tweets it to TF.

    What do you think?

That would just descend into a slanging match, best solution is to ignore...

I'll tell you what i think:

He is a QPR player and get behind him this afternoon

Let MH deal with this cos if it upsets the team he Will take it in hand

Joey Barton is a cock but also a decent player and they are few and far between at this club at the moment

Lots on here have to much to say about how the club is being run, let them all do their job and then if they fail, string them up! until then get behind the boys!

By doing this you can still get behind him this afternoon. It is far better than booing or whatever, but still if you think not we can move on.

However, what I don't want is another 1000 posts on here complaining about him, now that is dull.

Agree, I do wonder if Mark Hughes could stop players using Twitter if he wanted to or does that interfere the players human rights?

I can only imagine that the negativity behind something like this would escalate whenever things are not going according to plan on the pitch

Agree entirely. He needs to know that we don't appreciate his crap but do value what he is paid to do. When he bothers to do it.

Who knows this could work in our favour, he might get his ego out of his r's and become a QPR player. Hope so as I've waited all season for it with the odd glimpse.

Agreed. This board is getting more depressing than our league position.

Also clearly I'm a fool as I just can't see that JB has said anything that bad, he's not said anything that hasnt been said on this board by various people. The whole episode is getting blown out of all proportion as is our lack of transfers, the most important thing today is Wigan and nothing else.

I'm just hoping for once that Joey will do his talking on the pitch, he'll want to shut everyone up, and the only way to do that is to put in a performance today and for the rest of the season. If he starts playing like half the player he says he is and earning his over-inflated salary then he can tweet whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't start delivering MH will have him warming the bench as he is a bigger football legend than JB can ever hope to be and will be able to put him in his place. I'm praying he won't have to and we see an improved Rs performance all over the pitch, which will delight us all, Neil included. Onwards and upwards, you Rrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssss
