I'm gonna try that next time i'm on FIFA. Defending's easy, attacking's just annoying due to players standing still or standing right next to opposition players and not making any space.
It's just the way you set up your team, you need to make your own tactics, I did it when I was sick of boring 1-0 games. The way I play makes attack a lot more exciting, and also defending a lot more challenging and exciting also.
I just completely ignore custom tactics normally, i'll start doing some experimentation for the same reason you are. It's especially annoying against people who really can't defend but because they play ultra defensive they just have their whole team back and in the way. I'm sick of being beaten by 1 goal because i just can't attack when people do that.
Yep, arseholes like you described just spend their whole time camped behind the ball and chipping lob through balls over your defence, hoping one will result in a goal. I normally just quit out if the game means nothing, I want some excitement, not just boring passes in midfield.
The only problem with quitting is that, on UT it ruins your DNF. Mine's 0.62 because of my **** internet and i don't want it going any lower by me quitting! Also, i generally just feel like i've pussied out if i quit. I'd rather get battered 8-0 than be losing 3-0, leave and never know if i could pull it back.
I don't quit on UT, but on custom games I do if the game is boring. My DNF gets up to 1.25, then it goes way down after the EA servers **** up on me.
I go all out attack. I can't defend, so i don't bother trying. I play a lot like Arsenal, try and keep the ball, move the opposition around, and then go for it when a hole in defence opens up.
This bit fits perfectly I normally try and do what you do but there's always the scummy bastards with 5 at the back and ultra defensive.
Keep the ball. They'll eventually get pissed off, so they'll quit, and you can play someone more adventurous.
I'll have to try that and the custom tactics and see which works better. Or i could just do what they do, pick Stoke and hoof it up field every time i get the ball. Same! Although they're not as good as they used to be (on live season, Vorm used to be 86) so i tend to use Port Vale (Lewis Haldane plays for them) or Plymouth (fairly fast wingers) and occasionally i'll use Torino (Ogbonna and fast wingers).
I'm about a half way through Uncharted 3 and it's OK, I just haven't really got into it. I think I preferred the second one tbh.
Newcastle! Division 3 so far with 7 promotions and 0 Relegations. Ben Arfa and Ba upfront are unstoppable with their link up play and one twos with Cabaye producing it for them and Obertan running the wings.
On FM as wales manager, and Bale has just ****ed up his leg before the world cup (which I qualified for) so now I'm screwed! I'll have to play a ridiculously narrow 4-3-3, as I have NO wingers left.
Newcastle in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Ben Arfa behind Ba and Tiote and Cabaye running the midfield, got 8 consecutive promotions, into division 2 and only on 4 points after 5 games, its proper tough division 2!
I use Newcastle or Spurs because I like going down the wings and crossing to Ba/Adebayor. Both are class!
Only 6 points till I'm promoted to division 2 with 5 games remaining !! I just played my hardest game in Division 3 against Everton winning 2-1, I just scrapped it out with a Ben Arfa late goal Steven Taylor is an absolute rock at the back also, and the main reason I usually keep clean sheets even though he's not that fast.
Which do you guys play with Newcastle? For me 433 Krul Simpson---Colo---Taylor---Santon Ben Arfa*--- Tiote---Cabaye Jonas---Best---Ba *Edited Benny's position to CAM. I also upped Best's overall to like 75
