Pardew Press Conference-Another Dig At Benny

    I just watched his press conference in which he says 'Demba has played well in the number 10 role this year, linking up the play' when asked about the Cisse/Ba partnership. Is it just me who considers this to be a dig at Benny? I mean I haven't thought of Ba as a number 10 as he has been banging them in. Perhaps this shows Benny will be used on the wing.

    Seems like he's stating a fact at how well Demba has played in a similar role.

    He is probably considering using Benny on the right. Would be a wise move in my opinion.

    I swear people are getting more paranoid about ever comment they see. I just see this as a fact (Ba has played that role very well) and nothing more than that. It's like that thread the other day about a comment on Pardew and what he said about the ref where to me it looked like they where praising him

    I think pardew knows how to manage benny, and is trying to tease him and get a performance out of him? and hba can turn around and say told you I am good

    I don't consider it a dig at all. Ba has been in a more number 10 role, coming deep to pick up the ball, running at defenders and making clinical runs into the box beyond the other striker. The mistake people make when talking about Ba is that despite acknowledging how good he is, they wrongly perceive him to be a target man just because he's a tall fella and because he's scored quite a lot of headers.

    I didnt think that was a dig, as its pretty obvious Demba's been doing that number 10 role anyway. I just didnt like how he referred to Ben Arfa as a forward still and in the pecking order behind Shola, Best, Ba and Cisse.

    PLAY HIM IN MIDFIELD.

    I agree we should play him midfield with a roaming role, he is a play maker, who should be encouraged to get the ball and make something of it. Not play an out and out striker role, Demba and Cisse are the guys for that.
