Dunno if it's relevant or has been said, but according to his twitter it doesn't seem like he was offered a deal, found out recently supposedly.

Would've been a nice fairy tale, but it was a massive step up. League One would've been a big step let alone the PL.

Yeah, he's landed back down at home now. Said something about there not being much chance of a deal here.

Shame, but now with Cisse on board we've got plenty of strikers and for the future too unless we get rid of someone like donaldson, airey, campbell, ranger, etc...

Guarantee he would offer more than Shola, should have just offered him a 1 year deal on low wages.

Hope he goes on to a career in the league somewhere though, surely won't be long until he lands a deal, we have helped him become noticed

Yes, I could totally see him coming on against Spurs and scoring the equaliser, or out muscling an England centre half and flicking on the ball that Ba hooked against Man U, or holding up the ball and playing it back to set up Bests goal against QPR, or coming on against a physical Blackburn team and bossing their centre backs, subsequently changing the game somewhat in our favour. Or even keep us in Europe with his goals despite Shearer being injured, of course a non-league striker could do that.

Thing with Shola and Obertan is people don't think before they slag them off. Both have been integral parts of our team in key games throughout this season. Both players are hugely frustrating, but the booing, jibes and throwaway insults are pretty unfounded.

Shame for the lad. But I think I read that Bournemouth were sniffing round before we showed an interest so hopefully they will give him a chance now.

I'd have liked him to do well, but having signed Cisse he'd never really get a game. Lovenkrands looks like staying so that would make him 6th choice.

If of course he was better than Airey, Donaldson, or any other youth or reserve forward, which judging by his release he wasn't.
