Seeing as we all suddenly have a resounding interest in Senegal, I have a question. Just who is the best striker they have?

We all got a bit wet in the pants a couple days ago when we signed Papista Cisse (Demba calls him Papista so I do now as well) but now that the dust has settled down a question to ask is, is he even the best Senegal have to offer?

Moussa Sow is a name that gets banded about every transfer window and when you look at his CV, he was top scorer in the French league last year with Cabaye winning the title at Lille. Mamadou Niang is Senegal's captain, so you assume he will be starting every game and Camara is in at Montpellier who re flying high in Ligue 1 this season. So will we even see that much of the Ba/Cisse partnership?

Also a question worth asking is, have we even bought the best possible option we could....or even the best Senegal striker?

(unless he was here already ;D)

Hmmm, best finisher is definitively Cisse, but overall player, it's between Ba and Sow. Can't say.

Niang is the one that starts every game for them so i guess going by the manager it's him.

Sow is just a goal poacher from everything I've read, got nothing on Ba. Not to sound like I have my tinted spectacles on but I think Ba's the most complete striker, and Cisse's the best finisher. Niang is the oldest by 3 or 4 years which is probably why he's captain.

It is either Ba or Cisse. Sow isn't as good as either of them, Niang is most likely captain because he is the most experienced, Camara is way behind.

Niang was Ben Arfa's replacement at Marseille wasn't he?

Ba is best. Sow is worst.

Not sure, I think he can play out wide though. Is supposed to be good but now plays in the same league as Gyan I think, and is about 30.

I was wrong. Niang was the bloke Marseille sold just after Hatem had agreed terms with us, that's why they tried to pull out of the deal and Hatem started kicking off. :D

got to be Ba and Cisse.. both have been prolific in struggling teams that are in some of the hardest leagues. their goals record is impressive considering they have been in the premiership and bundesliga, sow is still technically a 1 season wonder and has a way to go to be a consistant goalscorer. niang is old and is probably 3rd best but hes captain too so probably needed in the team.

so ability-wise they are the best :D

Its definitely a strong department for them but if I was manager i'd play Sow-Cisse-Ba, I rated Niang when he was at Strasbourg but he isn't as good as the other 3

In all honesty, I only know all apart from Ba on reputation alone (and their FM / FIFA ability).

I've seen Niang, Sow play several times and I obviously know Ba. Cisse is an unknown quantity to me but now he is a NUFC player, he is quality in my books

I have an uncle who lives in Freiburg, have been to see Cisse on numerous occasions. I can tell you that you have pulled off a major coup, and are lucky to get him! In my opinion, Cisse is the best Senegalese striker, closely followed by Ba.

In 2011 they scored over 90 between Sow, Cisse and Ba...

    Imagine a 4-3-3 with that!

Niang usually played on the LW of the 4-3-3 at Marseille, with Ben Arfa on the opposite side (when/if he was starting too)...in his prime Niang was a pretty dominant player for L'OM, and topped Ligue 1...since moving on to Turkey and now Qatar, I'd say Sow has taken over his position in France. Pretty hard to compare them all unless they were playing in the same league or played the same role as forwards. All four are stellar attacking players, and based on this season's form, I'd say Ba tops them at present. Cisse is welcome to prove me wrong though!

Niang is in the squad purely for experience by the sounds of it if he's now playing in Qatar. He'll be behind Ba, Sow and Cissé (not too sure about this Camara fella?).

The better forward? For me, Ba. Purely because I haven't seen enough of any of the others to judge. If I remember well Sow is very highly rated on FIFA though. <cool>

Could you imagine if the club decided it wanted a Senegalese front 3?

    Ba - Sow - Cisse

We'd be unstoppable!...until January 2013 when the ACoN came knocking again!
