I think we will sign Sissokho and Tomkin by the end of next week...... Also..... I reckon none of our decent players will go.

I do have a feeling the Loverman will be off though...

How do you think it will pan out?

All this happiness and optimism that has swept over this board since Cisse signed is scaring me.

    This optimism is confusing me.

In the absence of Mr Tiote I'm gonna say "Arghhhh ****, we'll sell santon, Collo, Tiote, saylor, cabaye Jonas, Ba and Cisse for 3quid to the mackems.. Mark my words".

Would love this to be true, I'm forever the optimist but not sure we'll get someone of Cissokho's quality. Don't think we'll lose anyone significant though.

This....except for the bit about Cissokho and Tomkin!!

If we sign someone, it is likely to be someone that comes in under the radar of the media, like in the case of Cisse. That's how Ashley seems to like to work.

Why it's just like Christmas, except that you don't know what Santa is bringing you, beforehand. Makes for a better surprise!

I have always expected to lose Tiote this window. Not because Mike is greedy, but because I felt looking around the top sides midfields he is better than what they have. I expected a bit of a war ending with an bid hard to refuse (25m plus) Folk don't like it but it is very difficult for any club to turn down that money for a player they've paid 3.5m for, especially one of our current standing. That is just football and he is probably the easiest to replace also. With the ACON making any transfer involving him awkward I think we may stay as we are, maybe get a centre back. I'd love a left back to come in so we can get Santon in his natural position but because of his versatility I'm not sure its a current priority.

I expect a centre back simply because we are absolutely desperate. Aside from that I see our other three key areas being resolved in the summer. (left back, right midfield, cover for Tiote) That could change though if Morrison/Hoilett and Cissokho are realisitic deals to do now. I think Ashley is jsut patient but if the chance comes to get a bargain, he'll do the necessary. End of the day he needs to if he wants to keep moving in the right direction. It's the only way he'll get his money back.

    Hi guys

Just been reading a something similar on Sky Sports about Pardew's priority being Coloccini, which I completely agree with, he is looking like a class act now.

Whilst reading it though it did remind me that he was under intense scrutiny in your relegation season and in particular Alan Shearer showed absolutely no faith in him, which is more than likely a major factor as to why no chairman in their right mind has proceeded to offer Alan Shearer a position as manager at their club since. I think there's obviously more to it, such as pride but I wonder if Coloccini has any respect for Shearer the man now his playing days are over. I think Shearer done no favours for Coloccini and if it wasn't for Hughton's man management skills you lot could have never got to see how good the guy is, another big thumbs up for Hughton (& Calderwood).

Here's an article in it from the daily dogsh!t, but it does prove how much football is a confidence game http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ms-Newcastles-woes-Shearers-sinking-ship.html

To be fair to Alan, Colo was ****e all season. But it was just a typical case of a south american taking time to adapt to the league. He was easily bullied and the best thing that happened to him was a year in the Championship to toughen up. We had the same issue with Nobby Solano, he took a year and a half before he actually played well for us. Personally I have no doubt Shearer will make a good manager in the future. He has a very good understanding of the game and to judge him on 8 games on the back of some terrible management from others (Hughton included I must add despite eventually redeeming himself when given more time and clout), would be foolish at best. It was already a lost cause because morale was so low and we unfortunately had some real mercenaries like Duff, Martins etc.

I think anbody with any sort of footballing nous would struggle to not respect Shearer. He just had a very specific challenge. Personally I thought Shearer was mad to take it, he couldn't win. But I think he let his love for the club cloud his judgement. I think he felt if he'd turned it down, he would have been letting everyone down. I think most wouldn't have thought that, but he just went up further in most supporters estimation with a brain that he was quite willing to sacrifice his own reputation for a lost cause.

1 CB, either Tomkins or something we've never heard of. And that'll be it for transfers.

We'll sign a CB, probably young, and maybe get a LB in on loan with a view to sign in the future.
