I can't believe no-one else has been amazed by the fact that we're unbeaten in 7 games! Just noticed Norwich are, too...not bad for two teams assembled on shoestrings!

We're unbeaten in 5 actually - lost at Everton just before Christmas.

And Norwich are unbeaten in 4 having lost to Spurs on Dec 27. Been on the bottle Scott? Not like you to get the stats wrong!

Terrific article Scott, think you've really excelled yourself, on this one mate, well done! I must admit I have mixed feelings on this game, the prediction pot down my local, had draws and a 2-1 win to Swansea as the popular outcome, my head says draw, but I must admit I was one of those that went for a Swans 2-1 win, maybe because, we've always done well against Sunderland, but that said, Martin O'Neill is a cagey old fox, and I new it would not be long before he'd get the dressing room confident and focused, so I will stick with a 2-1 win to Swansea, though it could well be a draw. Have to say I've enjoyed reading the posts from both sets of fans, well done lads!..................

Excellent post, obviously hoping for a win,but i think a draw would be a good result and keep us going forward.MON has done wonders and his players have got confidence back, but so has Br and our team,Very tricky game to predict, draw good ,win fantastic.good luck to both teams, good comments from both set of supporters.

It's going to be a hard game, but i think we'll just edge it. The main factor is swansea's away record isnt great and our home form is getting better.
The gooners game was a great result but we'll play totally different game, a bit more like what Scott has said is the way to beat them so i think oneil will have done his homework (and) will change it if it isnt working unlike our previous manager.

Hate to say it, but I think Carsey75 is right. Think O'Neil has the tactical & motivational powers to out-fox us here, I think we could probably just about have got a win over the actual team of Sunderland, but fear O'Neil will be the difference.

That said if Rodgers get's us a draw or a win, it will be clear to me he's progressed to be one of the top managers in the league atm.

Will be a very interesting game in terms of how each manager approaches it and what they do during the match.

totally off topic but either Scott of Phil take round 21 down and make Round 22 predictions a sticky pls, and gone 1-1 but could go either way by the odd goal me thinks

Agreed. I think O'Neill does like his teams to play football (albeit normally very quick, fairly direct football) but if he thinks the best way for his team to disrupt another's play is to get in their faces and break things up a bit he'll have no hesitation in doing it, and nor should he!

The one thing alot of the Swansea lads are saying is that to beat them you have to get in their face, thankfully our tactics under O'Neill and to start with Bruce was to do exactly that and we have one of the best names in the business in Lee Cattermole for doing just that. If we can score in the first half I think we'll go onto win. 2-1 I'm going for. Should be a good game though, think it'll be very entertaining.

Before the Arsenal game I'd read that we'd recovered the least points after falling behind out of anyone in the league (1 or 2), obviously we beat Arsenal, but we are coming into some form. As you say, a goal early for Sunderland could be crucial, but you'll need to build on it.

I think this will be a really tough game going to the Stadium of light against a good team getting their confidence back with a great manager in MON. Every game this season is our biggest game and our toughest game and we've got to go into each game with that mentality or we might have shock. I know that if we don't turn up at 100% Sunderland will probably beat us and Arsenal will fade in the memory a bit. We are however more than capable of beating Sunderland if we can keep possession and pass well.

Should be a good one and I'm already getting quite nervous about it!

Btw people who have said we seem arrogant I have a feeling you might be responding to SWAMP's posts and I believe he is a Cardiff Fan so those are the oppinions of a bitter rival (so rather flattering - Thanks Swamp)! Safe journey up everyone.

o'neil is a journey man and we have enough skill in our squad to go there with confidence, we have a great record against sunderland and even though there wont be much in it i think we are a better team and will get another away win.......

O'Neil......Journey man??? at his age with the few clubs he has had compared to most other managers?

I think if this game was at your place you would win but i think at ours we will.
Only doubt i have is with our strikers at the moment, we could do with a top one......but then again so could most clubs, its just more obvious for us at the moment.
Saying that may the best team win.......just hope thats us!

Good luck after Saturday, i was impressed watching you beat Arsenal.

After our first away win at villa and our last good win against arsenal the boys will be brimming with confidence which will be reigned in a little by Rogers . Iff we can get the first goal in the first half i see us winning it 2-0 or 2-1 but a draw away to a decent sunderland team will do nicely. i will go for a 3-0 win for us ! <cheers>
