Youth cup game tonight

Not sure if there's been a thread for this but these are my thoughts on the game

Just got in not long ago. Absolutely freezing tonight! Our lads played some decent stuff.

First goal was a through ball from Dennis Knight latched onto by Michael Hoganson who put it away. Second was Knight who scored a great solo effort although it looked like he shoulda passed just stood up the last defender went past him and put it away. In general we kept the ball quite well playing some good stuff cm although one of them young Irish lad not sure his name was a bit wasteful.

MOTM: Between the 2 cb's Storey and Streete and Knight. Both cb's were solid all night and their goal came from a set piece but Knight edges it. He seemed a class above tonight first touch, skill wise everything. Good win for the lads tonight and will be going to the next round well done lads

 

Heard a lot of good things about Remi Streete. Also Adam Campbell, Jak Alnwick and JJ Hooper.

 

Campbell didn't have his best game tonight tbh he has bags of pace and great workrate though which made up for it a bit. He's been better in previous games. Streete was good and the other 2 weren't playing

 

I played against Knight in Sunday League when I was younger. Obviously it was just Sunday League, but he was clearly a class above. Could score from anywhere on the pitch, quick, strong, good dribbler, and his left foot is absolutely devastating!

Yeah they too old I think. Campbell supposed to be the boy like. But, they don't always make it when they are hyped up.

 

I used to play with quite a few of them at Wallsend and against most for school and was at school with Storey which may sway my motm as he gave me the tickets for free Yeah Knight seemed to always have an attitude problem but tonight he was grafting for the team and was the standout player.

Aye, always got that impression with Knight. Seemed to be that he could win any game on his own if he fancied it, but sometimes, even when he was younger, didn't always perform.

 

No that was my honest assessment of the game. A few stray passes from Streete first half put us under pressure but he and Storey put in some crunching tackles and key blocks. As For Knight yeah that is excactly him! He was definitley on it tonight. Very impressive

Campbell's been called up to the England U17 or U18 squad for a couple of upcoming games. Getting recognised already which is always good

 

Hope it doesn't get to his (ginger ) head

 

have high hopes for campbell i hope he makes the grade and any other nufc players, always great to see a player come up and cement a first team place

 

Personally, I think he will make it. I've spoken to him a fair few times on twitter and he seems to have his head in the right place. Can't see him 'doing a Morrison' anyway.

Do you think they can do what the old '85 team did? That team had Gazza, Joe Allon, Ian Bogie and Kevin Scott in. Gazza scored one of the goals of the FA youth cup that year.
