Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton has signed free agent Kelvin Etuhu. The midfielder has been without a club since being released by Manchester City after serving a prison term. Etuhu was convicted of assault last March but is looking to rebuild his career. Pompey are in administration and were only able to complete the deal after selling Hermann Hreidarsson to Coventry. I believe he is the younger brother of Fulham's Dickson Etuhu. Let us hope he has seen the light of redemption.
Oh great. Michael Appleton has lost 100% of my respect now. So we have 1 of the loanees (I think it was George Thorne but am not absolutely sure) who has an assault conviction and now we have another thug. Why don't we get Marlon King and have the triple. Sorry Wooperts but this is disgraceful news.
Agree, 3rd eye, not the best of choices on moral grounds alone, but you could say everyone deserves a second chance in life. I just hope he is a reformed character, and settles down to concentrate on his football.
Thought he was a bit if a thug. If you look at the original post it says Pompey are in administration...

mattock also has a "past" according to the leicester fans but he's been doing well for us. if the manager thinks he can deal with them then let him get on with it. he's done nothing to loose our support so far.
It's a fair bet that Etuhu was relatively cheaper with his wage demands as his past would have put on many clubs from taking him on. Can't say that I would want him playing for Saints, but if he plays well then maybe you will just have to hold your noses.
After all the rubbish we had on our site about Lee Barnard from Pompey fans How the worm turns In my opinion Every one deserves a second chance
Kelvin Etuhu started off really well when he was with us but picked up a couple of injuries and never quite seemed to live up to his promise afterwards, no doubt the guys got it in him to do the job. Hope you lot finally get an owner worthy of your support and good luck for the rest of the season with obvious omissions lol, by the way a couple of threads running on our board atm involving Portsmouth.
Cheers SussexBlue ! The very best of luck yourselves, in winning promotion at last, to the "Promised Land" All you need to do is catch-up with and overtake the current league leaders, and you are home and dry
