Well, that's not so bad, pretty fair in fact. Of course, wouldn't want to spend any time in any slammer but especially not over there. (Did spend a night in a R.A.F. slammer once, for sassing one twat of an SP)......<whistle>

    14:05 Newbury - Carrigmorna King

(Sets the standard in both form and speed figures for this race).

    Morning All

    Newbury 2.05
Fascinating novice hurdle for me this - there are two ex-flat unraced hurdlers in the field, Shernando and Crete, both were rated around 90 on the level and have proven form with cut in the ground, one is 2/1 and the other is 40/1 !
I know timber is very different to flat and Crete is also a 10 year old and it would seem a strange decision to go novice hurdling at this late stage of his career, but that doesn't explain to me why there is a such a difference in their respective prices.
For the sake of throwing a way a few beer vouchers I think I'll take a flyer on the rag....

Anyone know the plans for Cedre Bleu after today? If he wins well could enter the Arkle betting! Currently 40s with Stan James which would look very big cometh the hour?

@Grizzly, I've backed DESERT JOE in the 2.05 at Newbury hes currently 14/1 and thats a massive price I think he was beaten a short favourite on his debut over here but he looks like he could do with abit of cut in the ground and he'll get that today...

Even if Cedre Bleu wins today he doesn't look a 2 mile horse for Me, He looks like he needs further. Bellvano will be a tough nut to crack in that race at Newbury anyway....

(NAP) of the day is CORKAGE in the 1.10 at Southell 11/4 currently. Bolted up on his last hurdle start and is back chasing here. I expect him to go very close

    Right boys the moneys down.

Stuck with my selection/tip in the 14.05 at Newbury, CLARET CLOAK and have doubled it up with Ardent's 5pt win selection ARUACARCIA in the 15.10 at Newbury.

I think it's a decent race and certainly those with experience over timber would appear to have the advantage - but two very closely rated flat horses shouldnt be so far apart in prices.
Crete hasn't run for 3 years but if he was done they wouldn't be hurdling with him at 10, they surely think there's some ability left in the old boy....

I have no idea what the Harwell Trophy is, but the winner of the 14:35 at Newbury will receive it. The race is wide open butI can't help but feel that the Twisto's might have an opinon of Kaybeew. Very nice price, stable in form, likes the trip, third run this time in.

    Newbury. 14:35 Kaybeew. EW.

Good morning gents... And a late one for myself as its my birthday...!!! Im now into my 4th decade...!!! Ive been trawling through all 3 of my birthday cards and now its time to select some horses...

For those of you who have passed the certain age of 40 and the mid life crisis, its all down hill from then on etc, i dont feel any different from yesterday, or prob tom. But i might feel it after this weekend... Will i wake up tom with the sound of rushing wind passing my ears as i slide down the other side of the hill to oblivion...!!!

For those of you who have yet to reach the fabled target, its a load of ole hog wash...

Anyway we should all live our lives like were kids... It makes sense to me to act like a kid... Though paying the bills is a right pain for a teenager...<laugh>

Good luck to all today, and all the best...<cheers>

Just took a call from India asking about windows. I told him that we had quite a few in our house. He went on to mention corrupted files and spyware. I told him I had nothing to do with the secret police and I've never taken a bribe in my life. He didn't seem to understand that I was an honest man.
