Just been on the club shop online to see if they will finally deliver to the Channel Islands.

Saw this on the new shirts: "THE NEWCASTLE UNITED VIRGIN MONEY HOME SHIRT HAS AN APPLIED PATCH OVER THE ORIGINAL SPONSORS LOGO AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE LONGEVITY OF THE APPLICATION."

Does anyone have one yet? Does it look convincing?

Bit of a joke really TBH, if I blow £110 on two shirts I expect them to be properly made, not patched up. They should be letting the old stock go cheap and getting new ones made.

FYI - Getting Cisse home shirt and Kruls shirt

They'll probably sell Krul before the shirt turns up <whistle>

In their defence that's all they've done with the actual shirts that the players wear, you can still see the Northern Rock logo through the patch.

Wouldn't buy one till you've had a look at them. Heard a bad story or two about them.

IMO the club should bin the old stuff and get Virgin Money batch done..........thing is we don't know who will be sponsor long term. Didn't I read somewhere Branson was ok with the shirt deal but refused the stadium deal?

if the strip is just for this season then it makes sense with half the season gone.

    ^^ Cheers guys

Yeah, but the stadium rights could be sold seperately. I think it was a few years we agreed with Virgin

I take your point. But from a collectors perspectve it's a bit of bother. Have every shirt since I started supporting and a few from before.

Got them from way back before Northern Rock, sometimes still wear them on match days.

I read Virgin signed a 2 year sponsorship deal but it suggested they were only on the shirts until the summer. Maybe it's a 'you're on until we get a better deal' contract. I.E a stadium and shirt deal.

The patch on the shirts in the shop didn't seem too flimsy too be fair. I'll be getting the all black one when the price drops.

Getting rid of the Northern Rock ones and making entire new stock for half the season would be absolutely stupid. The stock is made well in advance. I had a problem with my girlfriends hone top I got her for Xmas and she's not gonna be able to get it replaced because they're not making any more at this stage. The stocks gone.

Hmm, that doesn't make a great deal of sense mate. how can they tell you there's no stock, yet add a patch on the existing stock? Either I'm misunderstanding (probable) or they're telling you some tall tales. (also possible <laugh>)

Same here AB, I just meant Im not upgrading this seasons top to a virgin money one. My fav one I still have (that fits me) is last brown ale home adidas one (we hah it the next aging season with ntl on the front). Classly looking shirt that one, reminds me of Speedo which make me more fond of it now!!

I'd pay £25 max for the new one with a stick on patch, not gonna pay full price.

I just mean they'll not be making brand new shirts. The patches are stuck onto the original stock that was left. There's no women's shirts available in store or online, other than man the harpoons size.

Sounds about right, I ordered something from them a few years ago and it seemed to me like the free mug was worth more <laugh> (Mug now has a sticker over the sports direct print. Had to keep it as it's bigger than the boss' 'big boss' mug lol)

Never been into one of their shops as we don't have one here and it's Mike A's place.
