Let's hope so - all depends where we finish I guess.

Interesting one should a half decent bid come in.

If it's a couple of million I'd expect a straight forward refusal.
If it's four to five we might see him go.
Let's not give it the big one about he won 't be sold because this is football and everyone has their price.

I appreciate the circumstances are different but who'd have though Leeds would have sold their golden boy( Howson) to Norwich?

I think we have to be realistic and the fact is some of our young lads will be PL class in the very near future, if they aren't already, and the likelihood is that's where they'll be playing.

Hopefully with us but if we don't go up in the next two to three seasons some of this team will leave for PL football.

    Just my opinion.

Join relegation threatened Bolton or skint Everton, sounds like a dream move.

Personally I think Chester would struggle in the Premier League, I've met him in person and was very surprised how small he was.

I think you're right - there must be doubts whether Bolton will be a PL side by the end of the season........ If not them then someone else I suppose. Everton may be skint but they continue to punch above their weight with a very canny manager.

However small he may be, he possess a lot of quality, quality that is no where near the finished article, and Premiership will be his league without a doubt

This story has been doing the rounds for a few weeks now ....

The Bolton & Everton thing has been going on for I would have thought a month .... Can't see anything happening before the summer window because of what's happening here as he and all the others could well be Premiership players without moving.

    <cheers>

He may not be tall for a centre back but his timing of a jump is excellent and this sort of negates his height issue. Stuart Elliot wasn't tall but he was superb in the air.

I think it'll take a special offer to prize the majority of our players away at the moment. Every interview you seem hear from a player highlights what a great set of lads of lads they're working with... I doubt many youngsters would sacrifice that for a seat on the bench in a PL relegation battle...

I feel that it will more or less come down to NB decision, if he feel that any offer for a player is an offer that you cannot resist, then he will probably agree to sell, if the money can be used to replace and strengthen the squad. However I think it will take a lot for this group of players to be split up, particulaly the ex Man U lads.

I know he doesn't have as many fans but for me Jack Hobbs has been absolutley outstanding, and on his current form is worth just as much as James Chester.

I agree, a lot of people forget how young Hobbs is and with more experience he'll turn into a decent centre back... Seen a couple of times this season when we've conceded and he's panicked which has lead to a few errors. Probably not the best captain at the moment though...

Chester was back to his best against Peterborough last weekend after a drop in his standards in recent weeks (not playing badly, just not as good as earlier in the season). I have no doubt he'll be an excellent defender who will develop into premiership quality in the near future, and I wouldn't be suprised to see him there soon, be that with us or Bolton, Everton etc. Can't see him moving this month, the summer may prove more of a test depending on how this season pans out for us.

I agree with this completely. I think we'll see both Hobbs and Chester in the Premiership before too long regardless of whether we go up or not.

I think Chester is a good centre half at this level, but he's not ready for a full run in the PL yet. I don't expect we will accept any offers if they come in.

He may well end up in the PL one day, hopefully with us though.

Hobbs looks okay, but seems like he could use an extra yard of pace to play in the PL.

Thats why I think Hobbs & Chester are a good central defensive partnership with Hobbs providing the aerial ability and Chester providing the defensive cover on the ground because of his pace

Old news this about Chester being linked to struggling Bolton and no money Everton. Wont happen. End of. imo.

Shame about TWS allowing Norwich to talk to Howson but then again IF TWS hold onto him for the season he leaves for nowt in the summer. :emoticon-0104-surpr Papa Smurff (Bates) wont allow that to happen. £10 is better £0. :emoticon-0112-wonde

There is a big difference between our board and the Leeds board. That plonker in charge at Leeds, who for life of I can't remember his name, would sell his old granny if there was a profit in it the Allams wouldn't

I agree that he's been outstanding, but IMO Chester's tackling is what sets him apart. He comes out of nowhere and completely stops attacks and it helps us to counter too. I've never seen a defender tackle like he does even when we were in the PL.
