That'll just be a start. Others will follow.

Brilliant if this ends up going ahead. Hopefully other clubs follow suit.

What is 'safe standing' exactly? I mean, how is it more safe than just the regular old stands?

TBH i'm sick of being told to sit down at home games by the stewards, so i wouldn't mind it being introduced into the PL.

I think if you have partitions between each row, so people can't surge forward on top of each other, thats much safer?

I think this is great news and hope we follow suit ASAP!

As stated, the rows of standing people have barricades between them, so no one can surge forward or get crushed.

Ah got it, cheers. That's a good idea, wonder why that wasn't just implemented in the first place instead of the standing ban.

Would love to see standing introduced back into the premier league. Maybes they can bring back drinking in the stands too...

This is what it looks like. This is the Hill 16 stand of Croke Park. A very new stadium and despite the crowds it sometimes has to deal with during big championship games

    Maybe rail standing like this?

Would be the easiest way to convert current seating areas.

They already have crush barriers at non league grounds, ridiculous that it's taken this long for Premier League clubs to follow suit.

Would love standing to return, I never have quite got away with having to sit at games, the atmosphere has rarely been the same since the final days of the old Gallowgate and Leazes ends! The only time I've stood at a game since was the Man Utd game at Cardiff in the FA Cup semi-final. Pissed myself leaughing when we sat down at half time and the announcer asked the Toon fans to remain seated for the second half. Needless to say about 40 od thousand fans took no notice and stood up again when the second half kicked off.

If Mike Ashley wants to become more popular, safe standing is a start. <ok>
