Last Updated: January 17, 2012 11:40am Derby County have won the race to sign Sunderland starlet Ryan Noble on loan, Sky Sports understands. Sky Sports revealed earlier this month that Martin O'Neill had decided to allow the 20-year-old out on loan, which alerted almost every Championship club to his availability. The young striker has been on fire for Sunderland's reserves in recent weeks after he recovered from a back problem which ruled him out at the start of the season. The England youth international, who previously has had a brief loan at Derby as well as Watford, will join the Rams for an initial month. I hope the lad gets some playing time it will be interesting to see if he can keep scoring in the Championship.
Well, that settles that one. MON obviously doesn't feel Noble's ready for a first team shot in the Prem any time soon. Which leaves us with Bendtner, Whickham and Ji. I could see a striker coming on loan this month.
Good club, decent sized crowds and good fans, which will benefit the lad. Looks a perfect move to me, hope it goes well.
Not forgetting Campbell! I wonder that if, assuming the rumours are true, MON is playing a few psychological mind games with the lad to knock his ego down a peg or two...
Derby are managed by Nigel Clough too who I understand is a bit like his dad in not taking any nonsense. I think this will do the lad a world of good and will show if he can live up to the standards he has set at youth and reserve level. I hope he succeeds as it can only be good for SAFC.
I never thought of this...I know MON has stated that he was pretty close to Brian Clough during his playing days, and this may have something to do with Nigel Clough landing him when almost every other Championship club had expressed an interest.
Yes I would not be surprised if Nigel Clough is one of the few football men that MON is close to. He has stated he is not very 'cliquey' with other people in the game. Derby is a good club so hope the young lad makes the most of this chance like Jack and Jordan among others did previously.
I think this is perfect, nice club and if Noble applies himself he should get in their first team, reserves for me isint a good sign, actual full on games in front of large crowds like this, another nice bit of management from MON
its important for all our promising reserves to go out on loan. Hendo did, Colback did, and they're both PL players now that play week in week out. This said i'll be keeping an eye on him, Derby is close(ish) to where i live and i know a few fans, so i'll ask their opinions when Noble starts to play for them
