Bullard did loads for us didn't he, great value for money the lad, good luck to Harps a good pro unlike your scummy pal, by the way you aren't coming off my ignore list this time you wumming retard
When all is said and done Harper was brought in when the club was on the bones of its arse do perform a certain role. He did that to the best of his ability and IMO put in some decent performances, granted some were pretty poor but overall I didn't mind him as a player. He has never bitched or moaned about being dropped and the fact he is willing to go to the soon to be Republic of Scotland shows he wants to play football. I'm not getting into the whole Bullard thing as I don't see the relevance to this thread or how it's even got to having an anti Bullard slant on it. If Harper does go I wish him all the best and thank him for him efforts here. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and can tell you he's an absolute gent. For me he's been a model pro and with the resources that were available at the time wasn't anywhere near as bad a signing as some would make out.
bitter and twisted, well you would know about that wouldn't you TWF - every comment about AP. Harper was brought in to do a job, which he probably did. Bullard was brought in to do a job by Brown and Duffen and Bartlett and he failed to do that job. So although some people may not rate or have great affection for Harper at least he isn't the loathed character that Bullard is (and isn't he doing well at Ipswich TWF). Anyway it must be really galling for you (TWF) to realise that under Allam, Pearson (Adam) and Barmby we will get promoted again (if not this season, next) and if we do we will do better overall in the PL than under the 3 stooges which you worship (Duffen, Brown, Bullard) meaning the tired old arguments you trot out with will be consigned to history - AS BARMBY WILL BE OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL MANAGER. sorry everyone else for my slight rant
All I meant with my thread was that Harper's not going to get a game, but it seemed very difficult to move him on. Sure, he was brought in at a point where we had very little choice/money. So - thanks are due to him for what he's given, and good luck to him getting a move to a club where he can play.
Harper comes in for so much unwarrented criticism, as others have mentioned we signed him when we had feck all money and he came in always gave it his all and was actually not as bad as people like to make out. Fair play now we're out of the shyte situation that we were in a year and a half ago he's surplus to requirements, I for one wish him the best of luck if he moves on.
^ This, he's never caused an ounce of problem and, as far as I'm aware, is a model pro. Good luck Harps
Reference comments above James Harper came to us on a free when we needed some fresh faces but didn't have any cash. In other times in Citys history he would have looked as good as most around him, but we have some very good players now at the club and there is no need for a player like him at this time. He seems an honest type and has never caused any strife. Apparently he could have played in the 2006 World Cup, but turned Ghana down and said "I've never been to Ghana". I think most would have gone to ensure they had that on their CV. Good luck to him and I hope it works out well wherever he lands up.
Yeah, but his head's a bit weird isn't it? Look at him on any team photo or any photo with other players in, it always looks either way too small or absolutely massive.
Spot on. He does not deserve all the grief that he has been getting. Fact is that City have now improved the squad no end since he arrived. I wish Harps all the best for the future and latest news has PNE and Orient as the latest clubs asking about him. Harper was a QTR of one of the best midfields in recent NPC times @ Reading. S.Hunt-Harper-Sidwell-Little least we forget eh ? Good luck man and thanks for what you did.
Hurry up and **** off harps we couldn't kick you out the door any quicker, go and point elsewhere. Bye bye.
