I'm pretty sure Fabregas was in the top 3 for successful passes in europe at some point and considering the team around... fabregas > silva.

I wish i could find the link but been drinking, I'm pretty sure it was on bbc sport.

High passing completion is great, but where you pass the ball and how you use it is more important in my opinon! (Not taking anything away from Swansea, who I love to watch :) )

Yeah I agree, players like Fabregas, Xavi and Alonso tend to lead those charts year in year out, which requires amazing consistency!

I can't decide, and frankly I don't see why I should have to? They're both fantastic, but play different roles. Valencia being my favourite Spanish club, I've loved watching him for years now - the trio of David Villa, David Silva, and Juan Mata led to some beautiful football, and I'm glad two of the 3 are finally getting the plaudits in England they've deserved (it annoys me how totally wasted Villa's been at Barca - he deserved to win trophies though).

As for Cesc, I miss watching him play for Arsenal - at his best he was a sight to behold in the centre of the park.

Silva wasn't great in the CL this year against a better standard of player. I think Silva is a very good player but the type of player that is often over-rated in this country

    You don't! ;)

As I said before, just because they don't play in exactly the same position, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be compared because they are still play in similar ways. Their job is to run the show in the middle of the park, create chances, and keep midfield ticking over. Fabregas is played on the left for Barca now, but he's also played in the hole and as a deep lying playmaker. Silva is very similar in that he played as more of a wide man at Valencia, he is played in the middle now for Man City and he plays in a more advanced role for Spain. I think it's fair to say that they are fairly similar!

Cesc dragged teams single handedly through tough times. 0-0 against AC Milan in the champions league? cesc scores a stunner. 0-0 aganst Villa in the premier league? cesc scoes a stunner. He has much moe to his game and is just a better creater, scorer and midfield player. Even this season, David Silvas best season, Fabregas has much more goals and assists. And I hardly think cesc was sussed in the prem, considering he got 9 goals and 17 assists for Arsenal last season in 34 games.
