Sorry, not impressed by Gosling as yet.

Also, to those saying they can't believe we'd get rid of Simpson: he's good, but Cissokho is a step above. I don't think full-back is our priority (depending on the contractual situation), but still, money ignored, Cissokho is an improvement, and one that will be good in the long term.

    This.

Hardly anyone's moved clubs so far, can't see it being busy at all.

Its not football manager though, one in one out all the time. We have to look to improve at some stage. Whereas Cissokho can help us do that, you only really get the best of these players when they are given time to integrate. Retaining the likes of Simpson allows you to do that. You need competition and at some stage you have to build on what you have rather than just keeping one for the next. I'm sure Alex Ferguson could have signed a lot better players than O'Shea/Brown but they were very reliable, understood the game in this country and the club. S

I doubt he'd want to sit on the bench. Especially given the contract situation. I also think in positions we're reasonably strong in, it will be one in one out.

Gosling isn't really a starter IMO. He's an impact player.

His defensive abilities are average, but he's decent in attack. He gets into good positions. However his finishing doesn't look brilliant. Can't believe he didn't score vs Sunderland, it was a simple chance.

Aye but Santon has a dicky knee, and they are very different full backs. They give you different options and I'm sure Danny would be happy enough if he was getting his fair share of games. That's the managers job and plenty others manage it. I'm not suggesting Pards has it as easy as Ferguson where just being at Man U is a big thing, but I still think you could manage the situation.

    Krul
    Santon backed up by Simmo
Taylor and Colla backed up by Willo and Perch
    Cissokho backed up by Fergie
    Obertan backed up by Raylor
Cabaye and Tiote backed up by a never ending list of centre midfielders
    Jonas backed up by Sammy
HBA and Ba backed up by Leon and Shola

I disagree with those who say full back isn't a priority. I'd ideally like a striker, a full back and a centre half, but if Cissokho signs, we will have a squad with 2 players for each position. Factor in that some can play a few positions and we will have a swuad strong enough to cope with Europa League. Just need to make sure we get 1 in for every 1 out.

I was involved in the web chat today with Lee Ryder who claimed that Cissokho's agent is the issue, he wants a huge fee apparantly. Also he said Erding was asking for top dollar which is obviously an issue. I'm not too confident on either having heard what he said

One humongous error on your part here. James Perch is not a valid option at PL level.
