    In Shearer's they had the set up penalty near the end. Imagine Shola's, who would be surprised if he fell over and skied it?

    He appears lazy but the years playing through injury have clearly damaged him physically, if he could run more he really would. It's not a lack of effort on his part, he just doesnt have the stamina.

    I'm not going.

    Playing for a team for 12 years because no other club wants you doesn't warrant a testimonial in my view.

    I think we might with some stability. He's never had a run in the team (not that he should have had a run) and must have played under about 15 managers and 20 different teams.

    I wonder who we will play in Shola's testimonial? I can see it being Newcastle United vs Newcastle All Star XI as chosen by Shola Ameobi.

    I don't comment often but in sholas defence even today when I thought he was overall a liability there where 2 or 3 times a long ball came up to him with 3 QPR players around and he some how came out with the ball and made a decent pass to HBA or Guthrie and then pulled the defenders with him.

    If he could just do that all game or even for the majority...

    Well thats not true, Sheff U a few year back ring any bells?
    Any player who "serves" a team for as long as he has deserves a testimonial .. dont get me wrong, i dont understand how he has had his contract extended so many times to stay here that long but hes Newcastle through and through so deserves our backing.
