Why can't Kenny just admit the Carroll gamble has failed? With Suarez out for weeks, they started with Kuyt alone up front. Carroll came on in place of Downing after 58 minutes. I thought with Suarez being out for some time Carroll would have been a shoe in.

I don't want Newcastle buying Carroll for £10million if he isn't match fit . :cheesy:

It is strange how he still refuses to start him...

Surely will decent crossers of the ball like Gerrard and Downing then he would at least try a system similar to what we played last season.

He seems to operate a constant rotation policy, so Carroll never gets a decent run of games. Also not starting him against Stoke, just what the hell.

Dirk Kuyt should never be deployed as a lone striker. Particularly not at home. Against Stoke.

Not complaining though, I ****ing hate Dalglish!

He needs a run of games to get back into his stride to what he was like here, we made him because we played him week in week out and he always gave 100% on the pitch. Liverpool are destroying him completely if they continue to **** around with him, perseverance is what is needed.

I cannot believe they played the same formation we did last season AT home! <yikes>

Why has KD gone all defensive all of a sudden? It's not as if Stoke are the force they were last season..

Seemed very strange that he didnt go with Carroll and Bellamy up front. Saying that dont really have much time for Kenny after he took a team that finished second and destroyed it. Reminds me of another scot we had here.

Kenny is an idiot! His tactics with Carroll in the team are crazy..

You have a player like Amy who is great in the air and is known for scoring a lot of headed goals.. he plays Downing (the only thing he is good at is crossing in my opinion) on the right and Bellamy on the left, both on their weaker sides.. what does he expect? They aren't going to get good crosses into the box and provide Carroll with the service he needs!!

Also.. Downing this season has 0 goals and 0 assists in the Premiership - due to playing on the right and on his weaker foot.

Today they only had one out and out winger in the team when they brought Carroll on.. and Downing came off! So they were left with Bellamy, Kuyt, Henderson and then Gerrard and Adam in the middle. With those 5 you're hardly going to get down the wings and get good crosses coming into the box for Amy.

Part (a lot) of me wanted to see Carroll fail badly when he went to Liverpool. But, watching him the other night was quite sad. How has he fallen from someone who used to put the fear of god into defenders with his aggression, to being a carthorse so quickly? Sad indeed.

Even though they both lack quality in areas i think adams and hendersons energy in midfield has spared dogleish some real blushes this season

He is getting some stick from us lot to be fair.

I don't think Carroll will ever sort himself our - hence why he isn't getting the games.

5 in midfield is just baffling.

It's like watching a lame horse trying to compete at the Grand National, it's got the cruel factor which some find funny, but it's probably best for everyone if he was just put down.

So he brought Carroll on in place of the player who could, arguably, get the most out of him in the team?
