So, a few bad results today....( well blackburn especially! ) Let's get behind Hughes and the team for tomorrow though. Going to be a long haul till May I feel, but with a few good signings should be ok. Keeping the faith for now!

I don't think tomorrow's game was ever going to be one we were looking to get anything from given how Newcastle have been playing this season, regardless of our poor run of form of late. Our central midfield is also currently looking extremely weak... I don't think anyone should be too upset if we come away with nothing tomorrow. The real test begins after tomorrow; games against MK Dons and Wigan are where the team and MH really have to show a new ruthless winning mentality.

Agree. I think we can nick a point tomorrow but the real business starts next week against Wigan and then Wolves a couple of weeks later.

Agree Liverpool - but perhaps with a little more patience! Hughes isn't known for instant results, so allowing for a couple of new signings and a bedding-in period for the new regime, I would hope to see something beginning to happen by 11 Feb when we play Blackburn.

This won't be a guaranteed result either (if their current form continues) but may show the foundations that lead to positive results thereafter. If that happens, we won't have to worry so much about the run-in. A solid Rangers side should be able to bring a couple of giants to heel by then...

True Brix, a good performance tomorrow would be a positive foundation, regardless of the result! By the way I don't think I've had the chance to say well done to you for the way you've handled Northolt leaving, a very smooth transition in a difficult time for the QPR forum <cheers>

Blackburn's bad result for us was their win against Manchester United, not today. We're in a mini-league of about 8 clubs, including Blackburn and Fulham. So you shouldn't be too surprised if such teams take points off each other. It's when they take points off the top teams - as Wolves did again today at White Hart Lane - that I'm unhappy. We're in this position because of our failure to take more points at home from the likes of Sunderland, West Brom, Norwich and Blackburn and not because Blackburn beat Fulham today.

Blackburn's squad is a lot better than their league position, only the stupidity of the Venkys is undermining the club. If they can avoid selling their best players they're good enough to stay up. Let's face it there are no easy games in the PL, Wigan next week is a crunch match which they are good enough to win if we are not at the top of our game...

Blackburn are pulling out the results for Kean aren't they. With ten men as well, also unlucky to be sent off compared with some tackles
