We need to send Townsend back, far too greedy! He's great running at defenders but hasn't got a clue after that. No wonder Harry has shipped him out so many times. And don't get me started on luciano!
Josh, no. Becchio's off form at the moment. But when he gets his spark back, he'll start scoring again. Keogh worked hard for the team, but never really looked like scoring too many.
No because this is his first poor season when it comes to scoring goals after missing pre season and obviosuly needing a little extra time to get back into it. Keough on the other hand will never score you many goals and he didn't create many either, I think the official stats say he created three while with us.
Ristac, its keogh's overall game that makes him a better striker, his ability to do everything that i see us lacking in a striker is why we should be buying him. IMO, he works harder than becchio (and in the right places as well, becchio runs for lost causes and then doesnt run when he should), keogh can turn better than becchio, keogh can hold the ball up better than becchio, his link up play is better, his passing is better, his long range shots are better, his vision is better, his execution is better, his heading is on a par i would say. The only thing i reckon becchio is better at infact is his positioning in front of goal when a cross comes in but not his positional sense all over the pitch. With keogh playing we will score more goals, with becchio playing he will no doubt score more goals than keogh would. But for me a striker doesn't have to provide you with all the goals. In a season, if both strikers played every game, i reckon that keogh would get maybe 10-12 goals and becchio would get around 20 (this is couting on form from last season, and only last season because he has never scored that many before and theres no reason to suggest he will do it again) but i guarantee that keogh's strike partner would get considerably more whereas becchios would hardly get any and keogh brings in the midfield better. I have always said that i dont rate becchio, even last season when he was scoring i thought he was massively overachieving, he seems like a very clumsy player that is pretty useless on the half way line when trying to hold the ball up. Anyway, take from that what you will
1) Score Goals 2) Create Goals Which one do you think Keough is good at? I hear you about holding the ball up etc but is that not to create a chance or a goal for a team member?? Keough did not create goals nor did he score many
ristacs right- i liked keogh and he had some qualities like running the channels that i admired. however he didnt do either of his 2 main duties:- score or create goals. it would be like having a keeper, and saying he was good because his kicking was ,even though he couldnt stop the ball going in his net!
