ok im not bothered who plays lm or lb back. But now butterfield can't be injured. he had a stormer in one of the games at home against birmingham or forest not sure but he payed well. i can understand de ridder on bench just coming back from injury. Reeves he's a versatile player as well couldn't he fill in at RM more attacking than cork, hammond and morgan.
I'm struggling to see how people think Harding is a better defender than Fox. Also Fox does not bomb down the flank like Harding does and Fox can produce quality crosses from midway inside the opposition half rather than in the corner
Think you mean the Boro home game. Butterfield played well in that game, including a great cross from deep for Guly's header. But how can you understand De Ridder only being able to make the bench following his injury comeback, but not Butterfield?
No idea. But Adkins confirmed in his interview after the Coventry that Butterfield had been out injured for a while (hence also the lack of him on the bench against Brighton, even though the likes of Reeves and Forte were selected)
Of course he can't, he delivered great crosses which are long passes for several of Lambert's goals (winner v Forest and Pompey goal spring to mind)
That's all well and good, but when he gets the ball at the back (in his actual position), he hoofs it and gives it away too often. Harding plays it out from the back.
When we play it out from the back we are often put under needless pressure, hoofing the ball is fine (maybe not today as there is no Rickie) but Rickie wins a lot more balls than he loses and Fox usually finds him with his long balls
Oh, of course it will Harding at RB and Fox at LB. But what myself and Tom were talking about is people who say that we should try Harding at LB and Fox at LM in certain games - for both of us, this is the wrong way around. If ever we try it, it should be Fox at LB and Harding at LM.
