I would. While I don't enjoy being called prick, that isn't even my reason. Alex is a very good CB, and I have no idea what Chelsea thinking when the ****e Coloccini is an automatic pick...

We don't know what wages they are paying but I would think they are high. I would take him but not for 80k a week.

The wages will be astronomical if he actually agrees to go there. He could do so so much better than QPR.

He's just not our type of player, very much the type of player QPR would sign though, and the sort we would've under Souness or Allardyce. His best days are behind him, over paid, overrated.

    This. <ok>

On loan I might have taken him, but the fact that QPR are in for him is enough to discourage me.

Agreed, we have learned not to take hand-me-downs in their late 20s from big clubs. Some will do well and some won't, our board don't see it as a risk worth taking where wages are concerned.

Alex has been a Chelsea player for nearly 8 years, wow. I suppose he was on loan for 3 of them at PSV.

Crazy when you think about it, very weird!

I would have him, for the right price and wage. QPR will be, undoubtedly, overpaying in both transfer and wages. No Thanks!

Alex was the player described by Gary Neville " as being controlled by some 12 year old with a Playstation"........brilliant

I rate him and he is as good as any Chelsea centre back apart from John Terry, but doesn't fit into our type of player. Too old, wages too high, no resale value...

No. Too old, too high wages and just like Samba he's not the sort of CB we need, we need Colo cover - someone who can play the ball around/be a sweeper while someone else wins the headers (Saylor/Williamson).

Agree with this. I think a centre half with a bit of pace would be a good thing too as a means of variation for those teams who have really nippy strikers.
