Apparantly he tweeted last night that he would not sign for another League 2 side, let's hope he's true to his word!!

No doubt we'll have some sort of gay comment from Bilko any time soon

    Bid accepted, woopsy
Looks like Oxford disscussed the bid with James before accepting it and on his way to the County Ground to disscuss the contract. Paolo is set to add to his list of strikers. Just hope we aren't paying stupid money for him.

    Beano's coming home

Looks like we've accepted £170k rising to £200k IF they get promoted, with there being a 20-25% sell on fee to Shrewsbury this really doesn't make financial sense if we're signing a replacement (forgetting the fact we're selling to them!!)

Just out of interest Big Tackle, where has all this money suddenly come from? You signed Rooney the other day and now Constable looks to be on his way

I've read on other forums that other Sw*ndon fans wouldn't be happy with this signing as much as we don't like it, is this still the case?

In answer to your first question. When Andrew Fitton took over the club a few years ago he assembled a board and directors worth a total £4.5billion. However Andrew Fitton wasn't the most ambitious chairman and was always looking to make profits in the transfer market. After relegation last year Fitton stood down as chairman and Jeremy Wray stood in his place. Since then Wray has pumped money into the squad and is eager to get promotion at the first time of asking. And apparently the spending will continue.

James Constable would be a welcomed signing by most Town fans. I think there is concerns where we have so many strikers at the moment. There has been breif talk that Lukas Magera or Mehdi Kerrouche could be a part of the Constable deal. And judging by the response on the Swindon Advertiser, most Swindon fans are over the moon.

I know the Constable deal looks on, however it wouldn't suprise if it falls through. Really hoping Constable signs though :)

Following the announcement earlier in the day and after further discussions during the afternoon it has been decided that James Constable will decline the opportunity to speak to Swindon Town FC.

James will remain an Oxford United player and will be back in training tomorrow and preparing for our home game against Hereford United on Saturday.
    More details to follow
