Martin O'Neill wants Bobby Zamora at Sunderland, as Fulham close in on the striker’s replacement.

O'Neill is a big admirer of the 30-year-old England international and believes he can get him for a cut-price fee
    ................................................................

    Bent> Gyan> Bendtner> Zamora.

    Anyone spot a trend?

Knowing O'Neill, it'll probably be a great signing. The man isn't an idiot.

    Apparently you do.

I'd say Zamora's slightly better than Bendtner though!

Wouldn't be a bad short-term signing for them. They need a focal point to their team.

I'd say a soiled rag is better than Bendtner.

    Bent > Gyan > Zamora > Bendtner.

Although Gyan never really proved his Ghana form for Sunderland, so could argue that O'Neill could get more out of Zamora than Gyan has been able to display. <ok>

Zamora has NEVER been more than a 1 in 3 striker. He's virtually hovered around that mark for every season of football he's played.

    It's alright, but hardly prolific.

He's a decent player, im just replying to the notion that it would be a "great signing". Another Bent is what I'd class as a 'great signing' in my view.

Personally I'd rather not have Zammo, but I'll go with whatever Marty thinks.

I find it surprising. With all of the financial fair play rules I would have thought most teams would be going in for players with re-sale value.

    this.

Zamora used to be a joke, but he's come good in the last couple of seasons. Artie Ziff likes to play with a target man leading the line and he's a pretty accomplished one atm as things go. Short term at best ,but you'd be assuming that Wickham would take the mantle when Zamora's on his way out
