    But enjoy the read.

    This is a good thread which I have allowed Celtic supporters opinions and now I feel I should bring it in with the Saints fans; who I will say 99% of them are good for the overall chat. Not wumming! <ok>

    Also I created this thread yesterday when it was just whispers about Hooper. Today it was in the paper, on SSN and the BBC. So this thread will grow throughout the process (if this 'gossip' is true)

    So I wouldn't get rid of the thread. :)

    There is direct entry into the CL this season.

    A still young striker with CL experience should be worth a great deal to us. That has to be our business model.

    Hooper hasn't been right for a lot of this season, but he has still put in a decent shift and gotten a decent return for us. There is much more to come imo.

    Wont believe it until Celtic confirm Saints have made a bid. Did we actually have a bid rejected earlier on in the month or was that just a rumour?

    All rumours just now - based on the fact hooper has worked with yer manager!

    He's essential to Celtic's title bid, so Celtic would be stupid to sell him for anything less than £6million!

    He has the chance of Champiosn Lge football next season if Celtic win the league (auto entry).

    He's be stupid to go.

    Hooper will not be signing for Southampton FC.

    His agent has taken our enquiry and turned it into a circus in order to get him a better deal at Celtic. Happens all the time. Some SFC fans have just been caught up in the whirlwind.

    As our chairman keeps everything hush hush until a deal is done, it leaves us saints fans constantly hoping and speculating that the next rumour is true.

    Sincerely good luck to Celtic in your season. I hope Hooper fires you to glory.

    I think you are right. Hooper has been angling at an improved contract for a bit. It is a nicely choreographed little play. They are all at it.

    To be honest...rather play in Championship than SPL, only 2 games of any importance each year because every other team is ****e in the division, and CL group stages isn't a major feat when you look at what you have to do to get there...<ok>
    think hooper would relish the chance to help saints push for promotion and possibility of being a key figure in the EPL <grin>

    Tonight SFC have tabled a 6m+ add on`s bid for G Hooper, He wants to go and will hand in a transfer request nxt week if not given permission to talk terms. I will be back nxt week to say I told you so. Thanks.
