Looks like they are no nearer to sorting out their ownership situation. You have to feel for their fans. Now there doesn't even seem to be a time-line for new owners to be announced. Dire!
From BBC Lampitt refused to discuss Cala's bid but says negotiations are ongoing and that there are a number of other interested parties but said it would be difficult to put a time-frame on when a takeover would be completed. "My realistic expectation was always that it would take a bit of time," added Lampitt. "These sorts of transactions are never easy and not straight forward considering the background and legacy to a takeover of this football club. "Mr Cala has obviously taken a decision to speak publicly but from my point of view, I don't really want to be drawn into the specifics around people who may or may not be involved in the process. "I don't think it is appropriate until we have a bit more certainty around that process."
Pompey in crisis? Must be Friday. To paraphrase Streetfighter: "For you, when your club went into financial meltdown, it was the most important time of your life. For Portsmouth FC, it was Friday."
"Speaking today Mr Lampitt said although the Sicilian businessman has spoken publically about his ambition to own Portsmouth FC" Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Googled Joseph Cala. If it's the same one, he's involved in the leisure industry, but sounds a strange one. Talks about a submarine holiday resort with Albanian loans. Lists his profession as business start ups. Has already talked of floating Pompey on the stock exchange!! The problem will be keeping them afloat not floating shares. Hope for their sake he's better than he sounds.
His business has yet to ever make a profit (think it made a 558k loss last year). He has also previously owned two Italian clubs. One was in Serie D(non pro league), where he got ousted after 6weeks for not paying any wages etc. He was ousted from the other club to, for the same thing.
God we were so lucky to get the owner we did. Skates must dread the next statement its like a sodding soap opera!
Strewth I feel for our Pompey colleagues. Can you imagine how they are feeling right now? Imagine if this had happened to us!!

Nothing will happen unless they go into administration, because their parent company is separate from the football club. Before you start jumping up and down, our holding company was considered to be one and the same as Saints.
But surely if the parent company are skint, the football club are even worse. I can't see how they are not intrinsically linked other than a legal technicality. Portsmouth are in a much worse financial position than we ever were. The FA cup cost them millions!
There will be no points deduction as long as Pompey continue to fulfill their obligations and pay their way. I am interested to know if any of their previous debts were paid, even at 20%.
Didn't they get agreement to pay back something like 5p to the pound?! Was a little while ago now. I know my aunties florist made a big loss on them. What worries me is other clubs trying to do a mini spending spree to buy success, failing, then either getting the FA to bail them out or holding out hope for the next Abramovich to save the day (yes we have been extremely lucky too) but we never overspent and our gates are decent. I can see the whole face of football changing commercially over the next ten years.
