Got some good competition there aswell, I agree though would be a good signing for a team like Wigan or Blackburn
Even though hes been injured he's competing with Crouch, Walters whos been in top form and Kenwyne Jones so I wouldn't suggest he'd of played a massive amount of games more if he'd of been fit. I think he'd do a brilliant job for us and offer us an option we don't have. I suppose this is irrelevant as the link on twitter is probably bull****. But if we had the oppurtunity I would definitely take him.
Let us not forget the last time Stoke loaned us a player, a certain Ibrahima Sonko and we all know how that went! Unfit, untalented and bloody expensive!
According to Twitter, Fuller is going to us, Cardiff, Celtic and Everton. He is out of contract at the end of this season and it doesn't look like they're offering him a new one, so he'll almost certainly be going somewhere.
Celtic and Everton would appear to have the advantage. Southampton rumoured to have offered 5m for Hooper. How genuine is the Twitter account it came from ?
I'm sure in reality there's a lot of difficulties getting players in early in the window. Clubs and players will no doubt be holding out for the highest offer and the whole process is probably a minefield. However I do get the impression from pretty much every transfer window we've been involved in that there seems to be a casual and relaxed attitude to getting deals done early on (often with too much concentration on pursuing one target that usually doesn't come off). Then suddenly it seems to dawn on everyone at the club that the window has almost closed and a mild panic sets in. We go from there to the desperate market of the final day when we fans all stay up late in hope and end up disappointed. I think an efficient club should have its main business done before the end of the window and possibly leave that final day to force the issue with any last deal where the selling club has been deliberately dragging their feet.
I think we have tried to get the deals done early but deals cannot be done if the parent club or selling club are dragging their heels
I dont get the argument that he hasnt played enough. I would have thought if hed played more then they wouldnt want rid of a regular - were only going to get prem players if there not playing regular first team football
Yes please Santa! Fuller would bag us plenty. Although I have heard that Lâ¬$$tâ¬r are preparing a £12 million âcounter mischiefâ bid for him..........
I think so too, but am I being naive in thinking that most deals could be done in principle in October, November, December, then in January it would be just a matter of completing them? In that pre-window period I would have thought negotiators could establish whether the deal could be completed at the start of the window and if we weren't given that assurance we could move on to another target. That sort of approach would soon establish that we are a hard-nosed club that won't be held to ransom and sellers would be less likely to mess us about.
A lot of the time, transfers of a certain player depend on other transfers going through so it is a knock on effect and not as simple
Yeah, it's always the same. Clubs have all year to set up deals and end up doing 50% of them in the last 24 hours of each window. Normally because one club finally agrees to cave on a price and then the rest of the dominoes fall.
