Look at this: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/fair-play.html

We're only above Villa in the fair play table? HOW? Wolves are ****ing ninth! What the ****?

I understood why we were low last season with the gobby factor we got from Barton and Nolan but why the hell are we so low this season? To my memory we've had only 1 red and that was for a second bookable offence and I don't remember alot of dissent in any of our matches, so what the hell?

I know it doesn't really matter (unless we want to use it as a way into Europe) but it just seems wrong, particularly with some of the teams above us (Stoke?!?!?!??!)

because most of the table is entirely subjective (referee respect and all that ****e - who incidentally, Chelsea do questionably well in). It's a complete joke.

We've had 2 reds. One for Jonas and one for Gosling

But yeah, I would have thought we'd have been higher then that. It dosnet really bother me that much though.

Oh course, I forgot Gosling, didn't see that match. Just seems like a weird order for the table

chelsea managed to coincide there runs of results perfectly with them getting ****ty refs that gave them everything.

i think the refereeing this season has been one of the worst ive witnessed.

the number of times the unfit officials have got in the way of the ball in just the last month is reaching double figures.

they have been terrible... yet they are protected so much by this bollocks respect thing... heres an idea.. why dont they go out and earn the respect. they think they are bigger than the game.

It has now become a league for who do referee's like the most, the fact that us and Villa are 19th and 20th in that table is a joke.

Exactly why we need video replay technology. A simple appeal system such as that used in tennis, cricket, hockey, taekwondo, loads of other sports would solve most of the problems (not the refs getting in the way though!)

    "2. Positive play

Maximum score = 10
    Minimum score = 1

This is designed to encourage attractive play that will increase the enjoyment of spectators and the following areas are taken into consideration:

    POSITIVE

    - Using attacking tactics, not defensive
    - Speeding up the game
    - Efforts to gain time (e.g. bringing the ball back into play quickly even if the team is in a winning position)
    - Continuing to push for goals when in a winning position

NEGATIVE

    - Slowing down the game
    - Time wasting
    - Tactics based on foul play
    - Play-acting (simulation)"

Yet, Stoke are higher than us...

And Blackburn who just sit back when they're 1-0 up and slow down the game as much as possible...

I made a thread about this a while back. It's funny how the things classed as negative sum up Stoke's tactics perfectly <laugh>.

Reading through how it works and what they base it on...

    Behaviour of crowd:

Liverpool? Racism from the crowd - I know it wasn't in the Premiership but still...

    Positive play:

Stoke - not much more to say really..

Although this is a stupid rule anyway - some teams have to defend to stay in the league! We can't always be Man City who have such a good attack they can always go forward!

    Respect to referees:

Man Utd, Chelsea - two teams that surround the referee at any chance possible.. Rooney the other week was quite clearly effing and blinding at the referee and does it every game!

    That table is bullshit!

Last season, I believe Manure came second in both respect to ref by players, and respect to officials by manager/staff.

Ah well, at least we are in a nice place in the table that matters :)

The reason why Stoke are not bottom of that league is because they get away with everything. If the refs sent off Shawcross and Huth every game like they deserve and give 10 penalties against them each game like they deserve then they would be bottom lol

Sheer lunacy. Surely Ferguson has been bollocked for talking **** about referees more than any other manager in history.

I stopped looking at these, there is no creditability to the numbers at all.

On the topic of surrounding refs, I tell want to see refs taking action. Captain can query, that's it. It pisses me off so much. When I watch rugby, a 5'1" ref will be surrounded by 3 20 stone rugby players and he will tell them why there's a whistle and what the situation is, they never (that I've seen) abuse the ref and the decisions are taken at value and not discussed in length.

Take a stand, warn you are going to book twats like Rooney if they surround the ref and get in his face and follow through with it!

Hope you do get it, but I'm with you - don't think you will get it.

Is it true that under Wenger you have never finished outside the top 4? Shows how class he is, worlds best manager

Has anyone ever been on "debatable decision" (if not google it)?

It is a website which "amends" the table when a bad refereeing mistake leads to a goal for one team. I thought it was a decent idea, considering I've come to believe that it's often the three unluckiest which go down, not necessarily the three worst...

However, they are incredibly selective on what they view as a mistake which changes the game, because a red card wrongly awarded changes a game, but how can you know what the end result will be? Also, they seem a bit biased towards their clubs, and have described Cabaye as vicious.

Anyway, their table has us 4th luckiest this year, with 8 decisions for, and 5 against (still a high proportion), while Stoke are the luckiest by a distance. The rest of the table resembles an upside down version of the current standings, which surely reflects top four fanboys whinging and influencing the whole thing. Wish someone would do this properly to be honest, especially as they have Sunderland ahead of us in their "amended" league.

How in god's name are we the lowest in the following?:

    3. Respect towards opponents

Maximum score = 7
    Minimum score = 1

Players should respect the Laws of the Game and abide by the spirit of Fair Play. The Fair Play delegate’s assessment will not double count items already covered in the ‘Red and Yellow cards’ category, but the seriousness of the offences punished by cards may be considered. This category will also include offences overlooked by the referee.

Any single major incident between players may have a significant bearing on the final score.

Blameless behaviour without any particularly positive attitude or gestures is likely to receive a score of 6 rather than 7.

I mean this is a joke. How can we be the worst team at this?

EDIT: Just seen that this is after 13 games....should be taken into consideration
