Henderson was dreadful imo. He looks numb as **** aswell

 

I know, both were so ineffectual today. Henderson really is a headless chicken

 

Those two aren't even close to the best. Just think of players like Sturridge, Welbeck and Oxlade-Chamberlain and it'll make you feel better!

 

Yeah I'd agree, although I'm not Welbeck's biggest fan tbh. Sturridge and AOC are class and will get better as will Smalling and Phil Jones

 

Where's that gid of Carroll playing football?

Yeah, I think we're alright for the time being. There are dozens of great players waiting for their chance, and most of them are twice the players those two donkeys are (on current form)!

 

I can see what Carroll's attributes and qualities are, but really don't see that with Henderson. Is he a box-to-box player, defensive player, flair and creative, passer and playmaker? I really don't see any ability that warrents a starting place in a premiership team nevermind £20M. He may come good in 2-3 years but i've just not seen it!

 

I think Henderson has done just fine for Liverpool, He's one of those players who goes about his buisness looking for the telling pass and rarely gives the ball away. I'm sure Mr Dalglish feels the same, as he's in the starting line-up for most games.

 

Yeah, he reminds me of Barry.

 

He can be reliable, but in a very Michael Carrick way. He doesn't give the ball away much because he passes it 4 or 5 yards to the most experienced player. Not much seems to come of his runs, crosses or shots.

 

Yeah, he doesn't do anything wrong really, but doesn't do much right either. Liverpool should get a better player than him who can contribute more

 

Always thought of Carrick as more of a passing player, who can read the game and always appears to be comfortable on the ball. Henderson tends to be pushed wide a lot of the time whenever i've seen him.

 

Was actually impressed with him one game when he played right midfield. Can't remember who was against, but he put in some good crosses.

 

As other comments have said, we had a system suited to him. Barton crossed, Carroll either headed it in or knocked it to Nolan who scored. He was pretty handy with his footwork as well but without getting regular game time he's struggling and his confidence has gone. We would have missed him a lot if we hadn't changed out game style. Now we have got a more on the floor approach with cabbage through the middle and it is attractive football, but carroll for us was more of a traditional English no 9

 

And they just beat Man City on their own turf
