if were honest not many people would have expected us to get a manager of Mark Hughes's ability, this is a possitive appointment and one that should see us as a premier league outfit for next season.Welcome Mr Hughes, now get us some top rated players to match your ambition.
Very happy with this appointment. He will be able to get better players into the club. a reported 30mil to spend, very excited!
Having missed out on the previously long available Martin O'Neil, Hughes would've been on my list of possibles. Whilst he hasn't won anything in management, he's been a stabilising factor and primes teams for glory pretty well with top half placements. That's precisely what we need right now. Whether he'll turn out to be a Jago or Sexton type, non-Rs who produced the style and effect we crave, we'll have to wait and see. Reckon he'll show Joey and Adel who's boss which can't be a bad thing. I can't vote on whether he'll turn out to be a good or bad appointment. No idea - very much on probation for the time being. (Have to bear in mind him dumping Fulham in the ultimately fruitless expectation of the Villa job.)
A quick appointment was imperative. Hughes was the best of the easily available managers and with a career record of over 40% wins in the PL knows what is required to keep us up and then kick on. The fact we're discussing signing Drogba is a measure of how far we've come in the last six months. The next three weeks are gonna be some ride!...
This is about right I think. ^^^ As a Fulham fan, I dislike the guy. As Superhoop says - best available when you nedded him - make no mistake, he believes he's better than you or us. He wanted the Chelsea job when AVB got it, though might have taken Villa. He wasn't offered Villa because he comes with an expensive entourage of assistants and coaches - Niedziewski et al. He'll keep you up and stabilize; will he stay after that ???
