ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this annoys me he stayed to fight for his place and showed a bit loyalty what's wrong with that shame mandy and jose didn't think the same, prefer this trait in a player than one that's off at the first sign of being dropped/better offer thank **** ben arfa has his attitude as well.

disloyal to our club - boooooooo
    loyal to his club -booooooo

well if Ryder is to be believed we're well on our way with this deal now. Carr has obviously seen a lot of him as he was our 1st choice target last summer. the fact that we're playing the long game on him means that he obviously thinks he's a good fit for the club. Who are we to argue with the omnipotant Carr?

NEWCASTLE UNITED are understood to be looking into the possibility of signing Melvut Erding.

The Paris St Germain striker is unsettled with the Ligue 1 side and Chronicle sources have indicated that Toon officials have been in Paris in the last 24 hours.

Newcastle moved for Erding last summer but the 24-year-old turned down a chance to move to St James' Park.

However, the Magpies are thought to be back in for the 12-times capped Turkey international.

Erding has made 11 appearances this season and scored one goal for PSG.

Fair enough there is no real way of knowing why he knocked us back but I'd rather have Rhodes anyway based on what I've seen of Erdinc. Looks nothing special. Not getting back into the Carroll and Jose debate again, needless to say I disagree. He was treat a hell of a lot better by PSG and they are a world away from us in terms of what they can offer a player so I couldn't really compare the three as they are in very different situations. Quite possible thay this guys motivation for staying was money orientated too of course, we don't know what his reasons were barring him saying he wanted to stay and fight for his place. I take anything a footballer, agent or club says with a pinch of salt.

hardly money as we offered him more than he's on now i'd rather have this lad than rhodes so we'll have to agree to disagree and see who we get and whoever we do i'll support them anyway.

I would take Erdinc. He is a class above, cheaper than Rhodes and has top level experience.

I'd support anyone who pulls on the black and white shirt just not convinced with this lad. When it comes to money I take the view now that we don't know what players get paid, we don't know what other clubs offer them, and generally just know **** all about contracts and contract offers. I'm not fussed what the player, agents or either clubs say, they've all got an agenda. So whether we offered more is just speculation to me and has little more credence than someone saying we didn't. I've given up with all that because they all talk absolute ****e.

I'll go on record and say i don't know much about wither maiga or erdinc but then i knew nothing about cabaye or tiote. i'm of the school of thought that i'll just have faith in the scouting network as its come up trumps so far. there'll always be some that flop but this guy has a decent record and is already an international regular. he has to be an improvement on what we have behind ba and benny.

me as well and the fact we chased erdinc for so long says enough for me i've watched him a bit this season albeit limited due to him being a sub all the games and he looks ok to me and when he came on against maigas team he did more in the 10 to 15 mins in that match than maiga did in the 70 odd minutes he played, was actually glad the maiga transfer collapsed as he hasn't been that impressive this season at all whether this was down to wanting to join us and not arsed who knows but from what i've seen it would be erdinc for me

Not really based on what I'd seen. But you can only judge so much from clips and the odd game. Same goes for Erdinc to an extent. I was concerned about the attitude of going on strike etc. I know people but Ben Arfa did the same but for me its different because I personally think Benny might be a bit special if we can harness him. I'm always the same with us now, I just accept whoever we sign and back them regardless. We have a bit of a revolving door at times but this is how they want to make their money and build the club in the process. Its like Obertan. If I was being brutally honest, I'd say the lack of a footballing brain will hinder from becoming anything really good. But I still cheer him on despite this and his ridiculous head.

I think you can interpret Erdinc two ways. He either snubbed the toon or chose to stay and fight for his place. Only the player and his agent will know the outcome.

If he is chosing to use us as a step to a bigger club then fine, he will have to perform well for us in order to make that happen and I'm happy with that.
