Season Ticket Holders £10 Adults £5 All Concessions Non-Season Ticket Holders £15 Adults £7 Seniors/16-22 Year-Olds/Disabled Supporters £5 15s and Under http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2572133,00.html
I feel that City could have done better for the fans. Why not offer season ticket holders a ticket for £7 and also any fan who purchased a Macclesfield match ticket. Plus kids for a quid would also have been better for the gate.
I agree that they could have benefitted with kids for a quid. However Crawley have to agree to the prices.
Why not make all tickets a fiver, offer some freebies to local kids clubs and try and fill the KC, this would make for a more atmospheric match day experience and encourage the next generation of the tiger nation. Only a thought !
I would, but I just checked the average house price in 1800 and apparently it was approx. £110 <robbin'bastards>
Remember that Crawley have to agree to the prices also (as mentioned by Roary) so It's not just as simple as just saying adults £5, kids a quid. At the same prices as the last round, along with the increased away fans, plus a few more cos it's the next round, I would expect around 15K for this one
Both Crawley and the FA have to agree the prices, which is why you don't normally get give-away's or really cheap tickets in the FA Cup.
and hence why many low key games end up with poor crowds. It used to be the case that if the home team could agree a guaranteed amount to the away team and FA then they could charge what they like. as an example...If City were to say charge £5 to all season ticket holders and Macclesfield C.Cup match ticket holders and kids for a quid then a crowd of 20,000+ would be certain. As the prices stand i would expect a gate of between 11-14,000 maybe. Crazy situation. imo. As an addendum to this its interesting to note the prize money for winning each round is as follows:- rd.3 winners £67,500 rd.4 winners £90,000 rd.5 winners £180,000 rd.6 winners £360,000 rd.7 winners £900,000 (semi-final)......looser gets £450,000 rd.8 winner £1,800,000 (Final)..........looser gets £900,000 plus of course the TV money for any Live games covered. So IF City get to rd.5 thats £157,500 in the coffers and its plain to see what they will get by winning further rounds. Who says the Cup is not worthwhile eh ?
Dind't Ipswich bring roughly half of Crawley's average home crowd? What makes you think Crawley will bring most of their home fans?
City bagged £67,500 prize money from the FA for winning the Ipswich game which i guess makes up in part for the missing fans. By beating Crawley Town City will bag another £90,000 again may i suggest to cover the missing fans. This is why the prices are so silly. Each club gets 40% and the FA 20% of the gate. Surely when it comes to paying fans..... Less is More ?
Because that would help City. Why do Crawley want the KC packed to the rafters with vociferous home supporters? They'd rather 5000 turn up and their away fans can make it like a home game.
£10 and £5 is very sensible pricing. Like that it's cheaper for season ticket holders too. Don't hold any malice against anyone who doesn't have one but I think those who do should be rewarded every now and then. I forgot to get a ticket for Saturday so ended up paying £15. Muppet.
Maybe one idea to get more fans there would be to issue a Voucher(on a first come first served basis-subject to availability) which guarantees you a match ticket for the home game with Leeds Utd ? Worth a try and it was pretty successful in the old days @ BP.
