Henry is temporary Chamakh is permanent O dear - is he permanent or temporary YWBK? Thought he did okay last night.
Why are some suggesting we struggled in this game? We where wasteful infront of goal but otherwise dominated the game completely. We had all the possession, we moved it around in there half at will but our finishing was woeful. They had no real chances of note and our team dealt with them well. We where playing a second string team at best (several second string players missing as well!). We where never in trouble of losing the game and i was always confident we would find the back of the net eventually meaning no replay. I think we controled the game and didn't get too frustrated with not scoring - we where patient and got the win. Yes it took a bit of class from Henry but he is a back-up player as well. Good game to watch - Arsenal need to be better infront of goal but otherwise lots of positives to take from it.
Hmmm. We had 12 corners, 16 off target 'shots'. 63% possession. It took a superb strike from an 'old boy'' 12 mins from time to put us through. That all sounds like struggling to me.
"We had 12 corners, 16 off target 'shots'. 63% possession." That sounds like domination to me... Yes we didn't put it in the back of the net enough times but otherwise we completely controlled the game. They did not look dangerous at all and therefor i fail to see how we can be considered to have struggled. They did nothing to make us think they were capable of scoring yet we had constant shots and all the posession (and the posession was in there half). We were no-where near good enough infront of goal - but we did not struggle one bit to win the game. We where relaxed, comfortable and in control from start to finish.
Even when we win, some people will always look for the negatives. They don't really put the 'support' into 'supporter', but there you go, everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose...
brilliant, you had 3 on target, thats the facts! and lets be honest, your one player say arteta cost more than our whole squad! Thats why you will never win the premier league, because it takes arsenal 500 passes to every goal attempt. Yet the likes of man u, Chelsea, Man City, Spurs all play direct football and go from the whistle.
True, I didn't at any stage feel we were under pressure from Leeds last night but our finishing was really really poor. That being said Leeds were very defensive and difficult to break down. Still we should have done better. I am confident Wenger will bring in another striker soon. Our midfielders need to learn to hit the target as well!
shot's on target,Arsenal 7-Leeds 4..........saves Arsenal 4.-Leeds 6. not exactly dominated is it,11 that played yesterday, played or were subs bench v Fulham.not exactly second string is it.To sum up Arsenal good side, but very poor quiet fans who tend to be delusional.
anyway Piskie - even when you tread in ****, you think its OK because you didn't sit in it. strange attitude. I'm a fan so don't insult me as if I'm not - you and your warped attitude is just opinion. Mine's equally valid.
I didn't say you weren't a fan, i said that some supporters don't really put the 'support' into that term as they seem more interested in criticism. Fair enough, your opinion is valid, that's what I was saying. Not sure what your '****' analogy is all about - strange.
it means when we are poor I can see and admit it- you and many others are blind to it. It's rather like 'In Wenger we trust' - blind adoration. Cults are like that. Yes we had good years with him - but its a long time ago. He's been our best ever, not denying it. However for all sorts of possible reasons - times are different, the club is often seemingly rudderless. Wage policy unclear, age policy unclear, youth policy unclear, team selection of continued weak players- unclear. Transfer policy unclear, spending on players, or clearing the debt unclear. Owners stake - building a fantastic asset for future sale, or simply being a guarantor while the Manager/Finance man gets on with it? What the hell is going on? It always seems a make do and mend attitude. What ever happened to passion, decisiveness, conviction? All gone by the wayside. We were feared for years - now anybody fancies their chances.
I don't know where you see any blind supporters, I think there are those who would readily admit that we were not brilliant last night, and need to improve. We're just trying to have a balanced point of view.
Second string or not it was the poorest Arsenal team I have seen in years. Yes they fully deserved the win but if I were an Arsenal fan I would be worried about the squandered chances and it taking Henry to bring some sanity to the team. I want to see Arsenal win the league but I can't see them finishing in the top 5 as the depth just isn't there.
wasnt exactly our strongest team either, and we could and perhaps should have nicked a draw with the free header mccormack missed. good effort from us.
