Barmby Signs On Permanent Basis The club is delighted to announce that Nick Barmby has signed as Manager of Hull City AFC on a permanent basis. After taking on the role of Caretaker-Manager in November, Nick has led the club into the play-off positions, as well as securing a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup after Saturday's victory against Ipswich. "It is a great honour for me to become Manager of my home-town club and I'm looking forward to the challenge. Although it has been a big decision to call time on my playing career I have enjoyed my spell in charge so far, and am excited about continuing to work with a talented group of players. It goes without saying that both myself, and the backroom staff that we have in place, will be working hard to ensure success." Hull City's Head of Football Operations Adam Pearson added: "We are delighted that after a period of negotiation Nick has committed his future to the club as Manager of Hull City on a full time basis. In his short spell as Caretaker-Manager Nick has already had a positive impact on the team, and his decision will provide a real boost as we go into the second half of the season." http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2571792,00.html?
6 wins out of 11 is good pal. Anyone with more than a 50% win rate in a season gets at least 69 points which is close to a playoff spot so I think that's fairly good!
think he could be become our longest serving manager. the players seem to respect him and want to play for him.
I was just going to start a thread OLM !!!!! But I'll give ya this one mate ...... Great News anyway, now for the promotion push.
Wishing you the best of luck Nick, I certainly have a good feeling about is management style so far. In the fail today on CS, he made a good remark saying Cameron when ever defenders double up on him, he need to work out how to deal with that. This put the onus on the player to work things out for themselves, but I am sure the coaching staff will be assisting.
