I reckon you got those marks about right. A good performance but the gulf in class was self evident and Gills do not have a lot to offer up front. The Cup has shown Gills to be well worthy of League 1 and way short of Premiership standard which is entirely satisfactory and just what we might have expected. I rather liked the way Lawrence showed the Gills commitment by clouting Jerome twice in the first 15 mins.
I think you are being generous to Flitney there, he didn't have the greatest match. Not only did he conceed the soft goal under his body, I don't think he coped very well with the long throw situation. Rather than coming to attack and claim the ball he stayed on the line which arguably cost us the second and third goals (although the third was up the other end so wwas had to judge). To be fair to the lad it may have been a tactical choice by Hess, but given the size of the Stoke team the back four couldn't cope and I feel Flitney could have helped out a bit more.
Jack Payne was immense, can't have been too far off of Jackman for MOTM. And to give Ross his dues, even the likes of Cech and Reina have struggled against the long throws, they are almost unplayable.
