The highlight of the cup game ,other than Kedwells goal, had to be the solo run through the middle by Matt Lawrence.At one point i thought he was going to go all the way and score.Had everyone laughing.Lets hope Barcelona scouts wasn't watching as we might lose him.
Gotta say for his age, the consistent performances that Matt Lawrence puts in every game epitomize the spirit of Gillingham FC . I suspect he has already done enough this year to earn himself another season. I reckon he could play well into his forties !! Is he the new Messi ? ..... erm No !
Got to say, that run was immense though!!! I thought one of the other highlights of the game was the P.A announcer... "if any Stoke fans are lucky enough to own a BMW" and "JUST the four minutes injury time" He never used to be that funny...
Lawrence was terrific and deserves another season but we have to remember he is older than Paul Scholes and he should really be handing over to someone else now (and not Frampton who, for all his good points is far slower and more injury prone than Lawrence).
