would love to sign him on a perm deal, but you have to ask yourself why is he available after only 6 months at wolves..
Probably because Wolves have 4 wingers and he is the least favoured; Hunt, Kightly, Jarvis and Hammill. I think Hammill is more of a Koren, Hoolahan, Butterfield type player who is best used in a free role in the centre of the attacking 3 of a 4-2-3-1 formation.
i really hope we pull it off. he impressed me very much. He may not be 1st team PL material but he's an excellent player in our league. him, cam, the two robbies in midfield would be tremendous, with evans/mckenna supporting roles. I'd be over the moon. king, mclean, fryatt, simpson... should be goals in there too.
Because he was signed as a replacement for Kightly, who's now back from his injury and Hamill hasn't made the right wing slot his own but wants first team football? If we get him for the level of fee discussed I'll be very happy with the deal. With King on loan for the rest of the season if we got promoted in the summer we'd (on current contracts) be looking at: Hamill, Koren, Stewart Fryatt Back up: McLean, Simpson Signing wise I think we'd need 2 strikers (1 loan, 1 perm) and 1 attacking midfielder. Hamill and Stewart can play anywhere across the 3 so it wouldn't really matter which of the 3 roles the signing was in. Should leave us with a reasonable amount of the budget for the rest of the signings we'd need. If we stayed down I'd go with 1 striker and 1 midfielder for next season (Brady could be the 1).
Other than the Leicester bid for Stewart, there's been no bids for any of our players. We're looking to move on McShane, Harper, Adebola, Pusic, Kilbane, Cairney(on loan at his request) and possibly Mclean(though he probably helped himself with his performance on Saturday).
would like to keep mclean, always looks sharper in the middle of the park. I doubt we'll get anyone in for adebola or harper mind
We're expecting to shift Harper without too much difficulty, though nobody has actually bid yet, apparently MK Dons and Charlton are both showing an interest.
wonder how teams think about bidding for someone when they never play a game... but then again, i'm not complaining if it's another wage off the books
Did anyone notice in Barmby's interview ahead of the game on Saturday, he said Pusic's contract expired already and we were just helping him out. When we signed him, it was announced as a deal until the end of the season, if it's not, I can't see why he hasn't gone already.
I can't believe Barmby is overlooking me in the team as a centre forward. I've always said he doesn't know what he's doing. 35 goals a season minimum, and only £4k a week.
we're probably keeping him on until he can find a new club. I suppose he/we don't want him on the dole 'til then.
AP's full quote is "Leicester are wasting their time. We’ve told them to stop messing around." After which he said... oh matron.
Leicester fans seem to be taking this as a positive sign that we may negotiate eventually. I genuinely can't decide.
Multiply by three the last figure they offered and we might show some interest. Still say it is NP trying to un-settle one of our players IMO
Pearson quotes from the Fail... "Cameron Stewart is not for sale, end of story," Pearson told the Mail. "We don't want to sell Cameron and the player doesn't want to go, so Leicester are wasting their time. "We've told them to stop messing around. If this is designed to unsettle the player, it won't work. "We're treating it with the disdain it deserves and my advice to them would be to move on to other targets. "None of the players we want will be leaving the club this month."
