Last years FA cup winners are on their way out it seems but is it with help from Chris Foy? Two good goals from United but the tackle by Kompany was never a red card. Perhaps the ref was influenced by Rooney's gesturing.

Potter without sounding harsh I'm pleased they are out. The amount of money that has been thrown at that club is obscene and even bending the FIFA fair play rules on finances. Out of the champions league out of the FA.Cup just goes to show money can't buy you everything. Plus I think we have more chance of beating Man U than we would City so anything that's good for Stoke is good for me! And another plus is that we don't get to see that pathetic Poznan crap at Wembley again!

Foy has messed up more than once since the Spurs game guys.
NEVER a red card IMO. Then, he denies Utd a blatant pen 2nd half..
The guy is a TOOL and I NEVER want to see him ref a Stoke game EVER.

  4. Agree with both of you. Yellow at most and if that is a RED card heaven help us. I thought Mancini did well to contain himself. It was also a 2nd penalty for United not given.

    Glad to see Citeh out!!!

I actually thought it was a penalty. He left the ground and went in studs up. I think I'm in a bit of a minority though!

Agreed Peadar, off the ground studs up = red card. It is all about intent, and if you go in like that, there is only one intention!

I personally agree that given the situation (Derby and Cup game) it was a tad harsh and in my view it would have been a Yellow with harsh warning for the rest of the game. However, it is red if you compare it to some of the other reds handed out this year which have also failed at appeal (Karl Henry for example), it just shows the varied perception by the referees! Shame really because it ruins the game!

I'm not a Barton fan, but if you look at his sending off (where the other player made a bit of a meal out of it) and the one where Dempsey continues to force his head into Bellamey's head and doesn't get sent off, its a joke. I dont blame the refs, I blame the FA and FIFA! Its about time that they design/invest in technology for key decessions and have a consistant appeal system rather than a system which fails to acknowledge Refs mistakes and penalises the club or player further - we might aswell operate in North Korea FFS!

That's a bit unfair. Whatever else you can criticise about North Korea, you can't fault their constant surveillance :D
