Grayson was at the KC today, watching City play Ipswich, I'm not sure who he was there to see, but is there any chance you're in for a centre back who can also play right back? I only ask, as we have one who Nick Barmby can't stand and said he wouldn't play again, but he miraculously appeared at right back in today's starting XI. I know he was planning to play Rosenior yesterday morning, but last night he switched to McShane and none of the other players involved today are high up on the 'out' list. Any chance?
Quite possibly, we need both a RB and CB - Any news or whispers why Barmby dislikes him? Looking at his history he looks useful?
That's exactly what we're looking for. Connolly's been effectively told he'll never play for us again (RB) and we've got an injury/ability crisis (CB). So McShane was probably who he was looking at. I know he's not very popular on your forum... care to tell us more?
Andrews is injured, I think they're trying to sort a permanent deal for him, but I believe there's interest from elsewhere, including the Premier League. Paul McShane is a very committed hard working played, he'll put his head where most others wouldn't put their foot, but he's sadly lacking in the skill department. His performance at Burnley away at the end of last year was up there with the worst performances I've ever seen from a City player, though to be fair he didn't do a great deal wrong yesterday. Barmby likes to play a quick passing game and McShane is nowhere near the ability of our current first XI, his game is more clattering people and going forward he just puts his head down and runs. He also seems to have forgotten how to trap a ball and his second touch is often a header. When he first came to us on loan in the Premier League he did well, then he seemed to forget how to play and became a liability, he was shipped out on loan to Barnsley last season, where I believe he did reasonably well. He's a remnant of our Premier League over-spending, he was on £24k a week(which is at least six times what he's worth), though I believe he had a relegation clause and that's now down to £16-18k. He has eighteen months to run on his contract and I know that he tops the list of players Nick wants to move on and he's been trying to get the owners to part fund his wages so we can get him out, but our owners are refusing to pay for any player to play anywhere else. He's affectionately referred to as The Ginger Ninja on our board. There are really only two things of note that he's done in his time with us, the first was a good headed goal away at Anfield, but by far the best thing, was demanding Rory Delap's towel away at Stoke, wiping the ball, then wiping his crotch and armpits, before handing the towel back to the ball girl. Hilarious. This is a compilation of howlers, it will put you off him completely, but it is quite funny...
@ originallambrettaman - Thanks for that, appreciated. That Youtube clip is more than enough to put me off him, we haven't got any kind of record when it comes to getting the best out of a defender and he certainly doesn't look any better than any defender we have watched at Elland Road in the past 18 months and his lack of pace looks quite frightening. The problem for us is that we are desperate for defenders and when it comes to funding it just isn't there so we shall probably end up with him.
Is this that Fourth Official off Twitter which you lot always witter on about or some **** off FoxesStalk?
3/4 people that have been known to get a lot right with Leicester have said about it. Apparently you've enquired and Ipswich have a bid accepted but Shaun wants to speak to Leeds.
I'd be happy with that in truth. I know he isn't rated inccredibly highly with Leicester fans but i think he is a very useful defender.
Is he rated by anyone's fans? All I ever hear about the man is 'overrated', 'error-prone' and 'how the **** did he get into the Ireland squad?'
I'd take him mate! we can make a player recapture what he was designated to do when our coaching staff pull there fingers out! I.e maxi gradel? jermaine beckford, even snoddy! Under macca he wasnt really a 1st team player! But then again we also made a mess, of AOB, Alex Bruce, Collins, O'dea, etc Sam Sodje anyone??
