I watched the Fleetwood v Blackpool game and was mightily impressed by Matt Phillips who scored a hat trick. Lightning pace and a clinical finisher. I wonder if he's on our scouting radar. Check out the England under 20 international on the highlights tonite.
He's got the potential to be class class. Raw though. I hoped we'd get him last summer and stated that on the board but I guess it wasn't to be.
I've been told about this lad a few times but not really seen him. I thought it was our very wn SKP whn I kept seeing his name mentioned and I think he has 10 or 12 goals for the season at a higher level than Rhodes. I really think that these sorts of players, as of course SKP did himself, coming from the lower leagues with some form, should be where our thoughts go next. Money just isnt there now for the multi million pound fees and salaries of these foreign mercenaries imo.
Is this the same player who hadnt scored for over a year and now has 2 hatricks in 2 games or something 20 goals in 132 games doesnt really strike me as prolific though, if he can keep doing it week in and week out, then maybe, but atm i would say he has a lot to do.
Isn't he a winger though? 1 in 5 for a winger's not too shabby. And he definitely scored in the premier league for Blackpool last season.
most of those games he was playing as a winger, as a certain Thierry Henry once did, till Arsene Wenger came knocking at his door.
He did but it may have been over a year ago lol just going off what stelling said on sky a week or so ago. and i didnt realise he was a winger, "another Rhodes" and scoring 6 goals in 2 games, i just put 2+2 together and came up with 65765435 by the looks of it.
Yeah he is a winger. He was the lad who kept tearing us a new one down the right hand side last season. He is lightning quick, if he has added goal's to his game he will be some player. We have Sess and Larsson for the right side though, can't see out happening.
