The quality of the report is disgraceful, summed up by the picture at the top of the page.
This picture shows Hatem Ben Arfa celebrating a goal. It is claimed by the caption that this photo was taken at today's game (Vs Blackburn Rovers, 07/01/12). Ben Arfa is shown celebrating with Gabriel Obertan (Substituted before the goal) and Demba Ba (Away at the ACoN). All three players are shown wearing Newcastle shirts with Northern Rock sponsorship, now out of date, as Newcastle United are now sponsored by Virgin Money, as is reflected by their current kit. I find it infuriating that the BBC insult the intelligence of Newcastle and Blackburn fans, as well as any neutrals reading the report by so obviously including this fallacy. I also feel that the BBC is claiming to have sent a photographer to the game, using TV License money. If a photographer was sent to the game, why is the wrong picture shown? If one was not, then the BBC is not being transparent about the way TV licensing money is being spent. This example is yet another kick in the teeth to many football fans all over the country, who already have to put up with the poor level of punditry from the MoTD team, most notably by Mark Lawrenson, and the general level of bias shown to certain teams.


My complaint

 

You can forget about Obertan going to the bench. Pardew has to show the board that the 3 mill he paid for him was money well spent.

People criticise obertan way too much, it seems like everytime he gets the ball the crowd want him to lose it so they can shout at him and the cheering when he went off was harsh however i can understand why people are frustrated with him he seems to make 20 yards progress and then turns round and goes back.

Ben Arfa was unreal everytime he got the ball he did some magic

agree about the effort for a guy who was fighting his way to get back in the first XI he certainly did himself any good, but I think he tries to do something impressive everytime he gets the ball, hes need to learn run past someone and try and put a cross in, is just as productive
