Me and my flatmate (Woking and Man Utd supporter) are in a bit of a disagreement over the best keeper we've ever seen play in the UK. Now, bear in mind we are only in our 30's, and we narrowed it down to keepers that have played in the UK (don't have to be English/Scottish/etc.) to keep the list down a little, I still think it's hard to pin it down.

Anywho, my choice was Neville Southall and his was P Schmeichel.

So, who is your choice? I'm sure there will be a lot of love for Monty, but who has been the best you have seen?

In recent years it has to be Schmiechel.

Best all round keeper I have seen was Pat Jennings, watching him catch balls one handed was a thing to behold!
(Yeah he pips Monty for me. )

Schmeichel was the best I've seen in recent years, going back a little further Shilton was a class act.

I was fortunate enough to see Gordon Banks play in his prime. I know that you are more impressionable when you're young, but I don't think I've seen anyone better. Shilton, in his prime, comes a close second, but I think that he played on just a tad too long.

As a NI fan who remembers the 1982 and 1986 WC's, I love Pat Jennings.

As a Utd fan Peter Schmeichel was incredible and best the EPL has seen.

Pat Jennings closely followed by Lev Yashin, I saw him once against Hungary at Roker Park in the 1966 World Cup.

Schmeichel for me - and none of the current crop of PL goallies come close to him.

Best in world ever - I would say Bouffon (spelling),

Mine too, though Chris Turner deserves an honourable mention too - he did everything to merit an England cap, kept out by Peter look-at-my-pony-tail-don't-I-look-like-a-knob Shilton
