Neil Lennon confirms enquiry made by Saints

Seems to me like Lennon may be tempted to accept an offer for winger Kris Commons, if the price was right.

Like that he is pacy and direct and can score goals he has a good strike on him and scores from out side the box which is something we dont seem to do on a often enough

I would love it if we signed Commons but I think the BBC are twisting it. He says "I think there is interest from Southampton in Kris" and there's no mention of confirming an enquiry.

 

I rated him highly when he was at Derby and seems to have done well for Celtic - good buy for me

 

How near match fit is he? Know nothing about Scottish football.

 

Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal could be out of action for at least four months now sio might mean Celtic won't want Commons to go.

Wow, 2 great feet, goes direct for goal, shoots on sight, sign him up! Just a question over his fitness though.

 

Where would he fit in though? He's a left winger, and he aint going to be replacing Lallana

he looks good in that video, but you ot to remember the SPL is a poor standard of football really, it would make pulis look half decent playing in the spl

 

Lennon says he's one week away from full training but it would take "a huge, huge offer for us to even consider selling any player" so maybe a no go but would be a great signing!

 

You forget, he was very good for Derby just over a year ago. Also, Hooiveld was crap in the SPL and he's been really good for us.

 

Agreed - some of the goal keeping was woeful, not fogetting the lack of closing down. That said - he clearly likes to take a shot - something that often seems lacking about us!

 

But they only paid £300,000 for him and Scottish Football is broke in any case. I would think that £1-1.5M would secure him.

 

He was a really good player at Derby, be a brilliant signing in my opinion.

 

Age could be a slight issue. Not really building to the future so maybe a couple more million on Matt Phillips, who has several more years in him, would be better?
