Don't know if I'd like us to turn into a City. It would be nice to win lots of things, but I don't think you'd have the sense of actually earning it and you'll always be branded as having bought the cup/league.

Look at PSG, they have Qatar owners but they have a business plan which doesn't include splashing millions on players every transfer window. Don't believe this rumour though.

Well said. I know Fat Mike is a pain, but you could end up with him selling to idiots like the Venky's. Better to be safe than sorry. I'd say spending 20 million gets you a top 5 place, you're a couple of players away from having a very good side.

 

All I want is an owner that:

- Has an eye for a bargain (like Ashley)
- Respects the fans and the clubs history
- Holds onto our best players

We are one of the few clubs that could break into the top 4 without huge investment because of the size of our fanbase.

You're right. Although I'm not sure Ashley has won fans over as simply placated us with relative success. The bitterness and mistrust is still very much there, but at then end of the day, we support our club because we like to see it do well, not to see a local owner or a large expenditure. If/when we take a dip, grumbles about Ashley become more audible but its just as you'd expect really...Had Bruce all of a sudden pulled a run of 6 wins out of the bag, all the BiBs would've been the louder bunch, similar situation here!
