So I was hoping to hear today or tomorrow, whether or not I got the job. I just got a call, and I don't know how to feel.

I was just expecting either "unfortunately you were unsuccessful" or "We'd like to offer you the job".

But no, I got a call 5 minutes ago saying "We'd like to call you in for a second interview on monday".

Of course I'm happy that I've still got a chance of getting the job and they are interested in me.

Has anyone else been in this situation before? What does it mean? Does it mean that they're seriously considering me, but they want to go further into detail about my previous experience or any other things?

So far in my life it's just been either I haven't or I have got the job.

Different work places have different policies for doing interviews, for one you past the 1st interview, so your 2nd one will be something towards the job rather than what your about and your experiences.

Good man Tash, and welcome back <ok>

Yeah, different companies, have different ways of recruitment. At my hotel, 2nd interviews are only ever for people looking at jobs on the management/supervisory and administration side of things.

It's a very positive sign my good man. Feel good about it. Just, dont go into the second interview thinking youve got the job lol. You do that, you wont get the job.

What was your first interview like, I know a lot of big companies work to a script to see how people respond, some just run through your cv with you and discuss your employment history in depth.
I worked for a company who looked for "Buzz Words", they scored you higher if you used them.........."Proactive", "Personal development",
you know the sort of thing.
    Good luck though <ok>

Ha, we score based on 'buzz phrases! Phrases such as 'I'm a good team leader' and 'I work with pride and efficeny'. I think it absolutley ridiculous myself.

I met a friend after she'd just had an interview, she was laughing because of one of the questions she was asked, the question was
"If you were a can of soup what flavour would you be"?
My friend is quite forward, during the part of the interview where they ask if there's anything you'd like to know, she referred to that question.
Apparently it is asked to see how you deal something out of the ordinary, will you panic or cope.

It's probably this, I don't know how the first interview was but this one will probably be more in depth.

Part time mate. Weird shifts as well. Sometimes it's like 2.30pm to 9pm, 6am to 12pm and every 3rd week you gotta work nights.

Well, I discussed things like how good my communication skills are, and how important building a good relationship with your co-workers is vital for a work team to be efficient, and then I tried to sell myself by saying that I don't easily get offended or intimidated by anyone, I am a very patient person and have excellent people skills. I believe I could be an asset to the hotel and be part of the reason why the hotel maintains it's fantastic reputation.

I went into much more detail and about a lot more things, but that's basically a summary of some of the things I had to talk about.

Haha but in my interview I decided to be clever and say "I'll always find something to do as I hate being inactive and always need something to do, I prefer to work than to do nothing at all".
