Old Saggy Chops that is. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/7415365/Harry-admits-looking-at-Ba Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has seemingly revealed an interest in Newcastle striker Demba Ba, after suggesting there is a release clause in his contract at St James' Park. Ba has been in great form for Newcastle this term with 15 goals for the Magpies, following his free transfer move from West Ham United. Now Redknapp has admitted that 'everyone' is now looking at the Senegalese striker who has flown out to partake in the African Cup of Nations. "Demba Ba's done great, hasn't he, everybody's looking at him suddenly," said Redknapp. "Anybody could have had him a year ago. Full credit to Alan Pardew, he took him. "He's done a fantastic job. What a strike-rate he's got. He's probably the most in-form striker anywhere at the moment." And in a move which is likely to anger his counter-part Alan Pardew, Redknapp suggested Ba has a release clause in his deal. "They say there's a release clause in his contract, that's what we all hear," he said. "He's certainly done well and it will be interesting to see what happens there, but at the moment he's doing great things for Newcastle." He really is an absolute tool.
Would be a shame for the Mags but worked out like a dream for the Ashley. Free transfer, bags a few goals, gets offered 10m. "Demba, how would you like a ride in my chopper"
Saggy Chops plays games... Gamesmanship! Such talk is made to unsettle players, which unsettles clubs. He probably sees our black and white cousins as an upcoming threat and is trying to destabilise them.
I think Skysports make it sound a lot more sinister than it actually is, as the media often does. It seems to me that he's recognising the fact that Ba is an outstanding player, something he and most other managers will often do if prompted. I think journalists know how to get a good story out of 'Arry. Just ask him about a player that's doing well, he'll say something and then you can make it out that he's preparing a bid as we speak. It doesn't take a genius to work out that managers will be interested in a player who can bag 15 goals in 19 appearances and wouldn't be hugely expensive.
Harry is no tool - look at his record. He simply does whats best for his own club. De-stabilising players in the transfer window is part of the modern game however irritating it is when your club are on the receiving end. To be honest football is just one big food chain, and we are part of it, and when we buynew players from "lesser" clubs we can't get enough of it
I hate saggy face. He's a twat and is the master at these games. He loves a bit of unsettling speculation. People are now moaning about him mentioning a release clause, saying he shouldn't know about it etc. But we knew about Demba's at West Ham and Cabaye's at Lille. Part and parcel of the game and every club including ourselves and the mackems are at it. Still a saggy faced **** though.
So long as its for a proper club like Sunderland, put an offer in ill request a transfer and ill double my efforts for you , sorted D BA to Sunderland and Ashley has his pie money for 2 years. everybody happy, well except 5-1 but who gives a **** about him
