This Ricky Hatton has done the same thing in the past, If a boxer has a fight in Newcastle its a good idea to wack a nufc shirt to get the crowd on your side <ok>

This thread has made me have a look up Naseem hamed and I never realised how great his record was. 35-0 he was till he lost to Barrera.

I cant find his awesome 'The Bomb' entrance. Pure class.

Looks like some people are getting mixed up between Hatton (big Man City fan) and Prince Naseem (fought in Newcastle and wore a Newcastle shirt (just like Bruno and others)but I'm sure Prince Naseem is a Sheff. Utd fan).

Indeed, his record was excellent. He has become somewhat underrated in recent times. A far more gifted operator than the limited Ricky Hatton.

Hamed beat every reigning champ in his division (he and Bernard Hopkins were the first fighters to do this in the four belt era): Steve Robinson (WBO),
Boom Boom Johnson (IBF), Wilfredo Vazquez (WBA) and Cesar Soto (WBC). Add in Stand out wins against Bungu, Kelley, McCullough and Medina as well as a long title reign and a Ring p4p stint and you have a pretty impressive resumé.

Yea for some reason people look back on him as a failed talent that lost his only genuine match vs barrera then just quit.

    Shame.

P.S. My Dad hated him. Ha
